Each one of us is a child of God, and as such,
we are full of the promise of spiritual growth.
A young person is like the springtime of the year.
The full time of the fruit is not yet, but there is promise of a blossom.
There is a spark of the Divine in every one of us.
Each has some of God’s spirit which can be developed by spiritual exercise.
Know that your life is full of glad promise.
Such blessings can be yours, such joys, such wonders,
as long as you develop in the sunshine of God’s love

You need to be constantly recharged by the power of the spirit of God.
Commune with God in quiet times until the life from God,
the Divine life, by that very contact,
flows into your being and revives your fainting spirit.
When weary, take time out and rest.
Rest and gain power and strength from God,
and then you will be ready to meet whatever opportunities come your way.
Rest until every care and worry and fear have gone
and then the tide of peace and serenity,
love and joy, will flow into your consciousness.

I will be more afraid of spirit-unrest,
of soul-disturbance, of any ruffling of the mind,
than of earthquake or fire.
When I feel the calm of my spirit has been broken by emotional upset,
then I must steal away alone with God,
until my heart sings and all is strong and calm again.
Un-calm times are the only times when evil can find an entrance.
I will beware of unguarded spots of unrest.
I will try to keep calm, no matter what turmoil surrounds me.

You must be, before you can do.
To accomplish much, be much.
In all cases, the doing must be the expression of the being.
It is foolish to think that we can accomplish much in personal relationships,
without first preparing ourselves by being honest, pure, unselfish, and loving.
We must choose the good and keep choosing it,
before we are ready to be used by God to accomplish any thing worth while.
We will not be given the opportunities until we are ready for them.
Quiet times of communion with the Higher Power are good preparation for creative action.

There should be joy in living the spiritual life.
A faith without joy is not entirely genuine.
If you are not happier as a result of your faith,
there is probably something wrong with it.
Faith in God should bring you a deep feeling of happiness and security,
no matter what happens on the surface of your life.
Each new day is another opportunity to serve God
and improve your relationships with other people.
This should bring joy.
Life should be abundant and outreaching.
It should be glowing and outgoing,
in ever widening circles.

How do I get strength to be effective and to accept responsibility?
By asking God for the strength I need each day.
It has been proved in countless lives that for every day I live,
the necessary power shall be given me.
I must face each challenge that comes to me during the day,
sure that God will give me the strength to face it.
For every task that is given me,
there is also given me all the power
necessary for the performance of that task.
I do not need to hold back.

"Thy will be done" must be your oft-repeated prayer.
And in the willing of God's will there should be gladness.
You should delight to do that will because when you do,
all your life goes right and everything tends to work well for you in the long run.
When you are honestly trying to do God's will and humbly accepting the results,
nothing can seriously hurt you.
Those who accept the will of God in their life may not inherit the earth,
but they will inherit real peace of mind.

It is not your circumstances that need altering so much as yourself.
After you have changed, conditions will naturally change.
Spare no effort to become all that God would have you become.
Follow every good leading of your conscience.
Take each day with no backward look.
Face the day's problems with God,
and seek God's help and guidance as to what you should do
in every situation that may arise.
Never look back.
Never leave until tomorrow the thing that you are guided to do today.

I will pray only for strength and that God's will be done.
I will use God's unlimited store of strength for my needs.
I will seek God's will for me.
I will strive for consciousness of God's presence,
for He is the light of the world.
I have become a pilgrim,
who needs only marching orders and strength and guidance for this day.

Pride stands sentinel at the door of the heart and shuts out the love of God.
God can only dwell with the humble and the obedient.
Obedience to God's will is the key unlocking the door to God's kingdom.
You cannot obey God to the best of your ability
without in time realizing God's love and responding to that love.
The rough stone steps of obedience lead up to where the mosaic floor of love and joy is laid.
Where God's spirit is, there is your home.
Where God's spirit is, there is your home.
There is heaven for you.

Each moment of your day which you devote to this new way of life is a gift to God.
The gift of the moments.
Even when your desire to serve God is sincere,
it is not an easy thing to give Him many of these moments:
the daily things you had planned to do,
given up gladly so that you can perform a good service or say a kind word.
If you can see God's purpose in many situations,
it will be easier to give Him many moments of your day.
Every situation has two interpretations-your own and God's.
Try to handle each situation in the way you believe God would have it handled.

Excuse me for breaking in but was wondering if you have read Steve's #118, Pg.6 in "The Teaching and Example.....The Sabbath" where He says Jesus the Son of God LIED?
If so, do you still stand with him?

God can help to make us truly grateful and humble.
Since we cannot see God, we must believe in Him without seeing.
What we can see clearly is the change in a human being,
when he sincerely asks God for the strength to change.
We should cling to faith in God and in His power to change our ways.
Our faith in an Unseen God will be rewarded by a useful and serviceable life.
God will not fail to show us the way we should live,
when in real gratitude and true humility we turn to Him.

I will try to make the world better and happier by my presence in it.
I will try to help other people find the way God wants them to live.
I will try to be on the side of good, in the stream of righteousness,
where all things work for good.
I will do my duty persistently and faithfully,
not sparing myself.
I will be gentle with all people.
I will try to see other people’s difficulty and help them to correct it.
I will always pray to God to act as interpreter between me and the other person.

I believe that God had already seen my heart's needs before I cried to Him,
before I was conscious of those needs myself.
I believe that God was already preparing the answer.
God does not have to be petitioned with sighs and tears and much speaking,
before he reluctantly looses the desired help.
He has already anticipated my every want and need.
I will try to see this, as His plans unfold in my life.

I must overcome myself before I can truly forgive other people for injuries done to me.
The self in me cannot forgive injuries.
The very thought of wrongs means that my self is in the foreground.
Since the self cannot forgive, I must overcome my selfishness.
I must cease trying to forgive those who fretted and wronged me.
It is a mistake for me even to think about these injuries.
I must aim at overcoming myself in daily life
and then I will find there is nothing in me that remembers injury,
because the only thing injured,
my selfishness,
is gone.

These meditations can teach us how to relax.
We can be of service to other people in a small way, at least.
And we can be happy while doing it.
We should not worry too much about people we cannot help.
We can make it a habit to leave the outcome of the things we do to God.
We can go along through life doing the best we can,
but without a feeling of urgency or strain.
We can enjoy all the good things and the beauty of life,
but at the same time depend deeply on God.

God's spirit is all about you all day long.
You have no thoughts,
no plans, no impulses,
no emotions,
that He does not know about.
You can hide nothing from Him.
Do not make your conduct conform only to that of the world
and do not depend on the approval or disapproval of others.
God sees in secret, but He rewards openly.
If you are in harmony with the Divine Spirit,
doing your best to live the way you believe God wants you to live,
you will be at peace.

There is a time for everything.
We should learn to wait patiently until the right time comes.
Easy does it.
We waste our energies in trying to get things before we are ready to have them,
before we have earned the right to receive them.
We can believe that all our life is a preparation for something better
to come when we have earned the right to it.
We can believe that God has a plan for our lives
and that this plan will work out in the fullness of time.
