We have worked our way through the gospels looking at what Jesus taught and did by example on the sabbath.
It seems fitting that we should now turn our focus to the Apostle Paul.
Luke 4:16
He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up,
and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue,
as was his custom. And he stood up to read.
Acts 17:2
As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue,
and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

So, what was the Apostle Paul doing in the synagogues on the sabbath?
Was he observing the sabbath as some claim?
Acts 18 makes it clear that he was there to evangelize.
The Jews even took him to court charging him with:
"persuading the people to worship God in ways contrary to the law."
Does that sound like he was promoting the law, as some claim?
Acts 18:4,12-13
Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks...
While Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him into court.
“This man,” they charged, “is persuading the people to worship God in ways contrary to the law.”

Here is another example of what was going on in the synagogues.
Evangelistic services rather then the sabbath observance claimed by some.
It was obvious that these folks were not believers in Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul was there to preach Christ to them.
Acts 17:1-5
When they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia,
they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue.
2 As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue,
and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,
3 explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead.
“This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ,” he said.
4 Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas,
as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and not a few prominent women.
5 But the Jews were jealous;
so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace,
formed a mob and started a riot in the city.
They rushed to Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas
in order to bring them out to the crowd.

So I suppose now we shall hear a false accusation that Paul was also breaking the Sabbath from our resident modern day Pharisee.

I can see why you skipped verse 9.
Acts 19:8-10
Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months,
arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.
9 But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way.
So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in
the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

They talk as if they have NEVER actually even read the New Testament for themselves and are foolishly following their cult leaders straight to the slaughter. They have been programmed to adhere to the false doctrines of Armstrong and White, their so called "prophets" without question. How very sad.

They take you elsewhere in the Bible to "disprove" what John 5:18 says very clearly.
Why don't they consider the context? It wouldn't help their case one bit.
It reminds me of paulwhut's "it just can't be..." approach. Presumption on assumption on speculation.
NO EVIDENCE whatsoever.
Interesting to notice that no biblical answers came forth in the other topic to dispute what was clear.
Yet they continue. What the Bible says has no bearing on their beliefs. Though they claim otherwise.
Sonny still claims that Jesus example of sabbath keeping is to be followed.
The only problem is that there is no example to be found.
And the only reason they went with the "example" idea was because there were
no teachings promoting the sabbath or NT commandments to be found.
Oh what a tangled web they weave...
Fortunately they have an agnostic to present their case, or they would be at a complete loss.

Why do you cherry pick Jn.5:18 ? You should use the entire NT(as intang says) for context, like going to other Scriptures to try and prove your false accusation against Christ. Instead you ridicule me for posting a LINK that does use other verses for context and not sticking with your cherry picked verse. What a couple fo JOKES you guys are! But what else is to be expected from those who chose the RCC's sun-gods-day over the Lord's Holy Sabbath Day and do their best to get rid of it as a day still to be observed. I wonder if Sabbatarians would lay aside the Lord's Sabbath and go to church with y'all come next RCC sun-gods-day would we then be saved??? NOT! Mt.15:9 is not the way of Christian Sabbatarians as is yours!!!!

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught,
so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers,
especially those of the circumcision group. They must be silenced,
because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—
and that for the sake of dishonest gain.

What trustworthy message has been taught for keeping the weekly 1st day as you do? The many NT Scriptrues of Christ and Paul assembling on the Sabbath Day teachs us a message! Why do you chose to be of the rebellious people, a talker and deceiver that teachs the RCC's sun-gods-day is now to be the day of weekly observance? Your quoted verse is one reason why Christian Sabbatarians reject your RCC sun-gods-day as the day of worship and hold firmly to the Scriptures and the 7th Day Christ and the Apostles observed. You are of the ones Paul was speaking to as your Pharisaical claims against Christ and Christian Sabbatarians clearly show. As for dishonest gain, turn on your TV next sun-gods-day morning and watch all the begging, crying, screaming and carrying on for money!!!!
