With all that food you should not go hungery.

Terry
I'm not routing for either team. I was hopping for a rematch of last years Super Bowl. I'll have the game on, but don't expect I'll see much of it. The first Sun of each month is when we have a family get together. I expect we will have 20 or so adults and kids. To much commotion to really pay attention to the game.

Terry sounds like your house will be filled, hope everything goes well, our family get togethers depends on work schedules with the others.

The weather here looks just like RB's post. I even have a creek behind my property that looks just like the picture! Thanks RBKay!

Guess you are not mad I gave away your secret.

It was almost 60 for the last several days but I see some snow on the way, FINALLY! Not that I'm complaining cause its been really beautiful weather this winter.

Sarge our weather has been great and some of our spring plants are showing the itch of Spring. I hope this weather does not louse up Spring or Summer. We have started some vegetable seeds in the sun room in hopes in a month and a half they will go into the garden.

Who is everybody routing for in the superbowl?

Sunday will be our normal Lord’s Day, at this time we are not expecting company as most know we don’t waste electric on a bunch of overpaid cry babies.

If I was a fan I would go with the Patriots, yes I know a camel picked the Giants but what does a camel know and as far as that goes what do I know?

Hope all the fans enjoy tomorrow.

While many sports fans are preparing for Sunday's Super Bowl by organizing parties and shopping for TVs, the U.S. government is preparing in a different way. Just yesterday, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency seized 307 different domains suspected of violating NFL copyrights. Of those, 16 were suspected of illegal streaming. The rest were allegedly selling counterfeit NFL merchandise.

So WHATS the big problem all the junk is made in china.

The seizure was conducted under U.S. civil law, not criminal law. That means the affected parties need to prove that the internet domains were not engaging in illegal activity to get them back — an ugly mirror image of the country's usual "innocent until proven guilty" right. Many of the domains were not being operated by U.S. groups. Because they used U.S. domain suffixes .net, .com, and .org, however, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency was empowered to act.

Visitors to any of the seized domains are now greeted by a message from ICE explaining the takedown. According to the government, these messages have already been viewed over 77 million times yesterday alone.

I used to hear that tax evasion was the only crime that you were considered guilty of until you proved yourself Innocent. I guess we are lucky it took so long to be extended to other things.
Jay Leno Had a balloon breaking dog on last night. They had an equal number of balloons for each teem. The last balloon broke is suppose to win the Super Bowl. It was the Patriots. The dog has been right every year since they have been having him on.

Hi Guys! Glad to see y'all and Critter says 'Hi' back to Mate. He was a bit under the weather but is better today. Think maybe he had same thing I got and what I think you get SARGE I had never heard of it before and never had it because I was too busy working to really notice and the weather for the past couple of years has been completely different. This thing was addressed on a local station a few days ago. It is called 'Seasonal Affective Disorder' (S.A.D.). Woot It affects a lot of people when there are dreary days with no sun and no real weather related events like rain or snow or wind. Or, the same event over and over. Who knew! RollEyes Just makes you kind of bleah, just like the weather with no energy and maybe mild depression. I don't get depressed because when I wake-up, I just say thanks to God that I am still here! Just had the 'blahs'. Today was beautiful with a lot of sun. Still kind of cold for me 50+ but at least could go outside without getting wet. Anyway, 20 people in the same house at the same time? I like to do family days also when we can, but boy, too much commotion for me! And, nope certainly won't go hungry with all the food! When I get the 'cooking bug', I purposely overbuy and cook almost everything in a few days and put separate meals in those vacuum bags and freeze. I also split stuff to give to my neighbor as she is not as blessed as I am in the monetary benefits I get monthly. A lot of times, I take stuff over to Bro's house and leave it in their fridge (they usually go see the grandkids on the week-ends that 'Mercy' isn't playing). Sis makes dinner almost every night and lunches for both of them so I leave stuff to give her a little break. OK guys-for the fans, like me, enjoy the game and all have a great day ThumpUp Love-Pattie

Hello Sarge,

It has been a while since we plugged in the coffee pot.
I will put the chairs into a circle and put a little wood into the potbelly stove.
I invited the folks that live in the camp behind the coffee shop.

Lets make some sweet-rolls from the leftover MRE deserts.

Folks lets open this meeting with a word of prayer.

Father God
We come here to your presence as family.
It's an honor to a part of the Family of God.
We thank you for Jesus.
We ask today for this daily bread.
Let your word feed us today.
Forgive us for the things that we have failed to do.
One day at a time in the Sweet name of Jesus Amen

Coffee is ready and the rolls are cooling....

I wanted to share this report about a man who lives behind the feed store.
He placed some pallets around his mattress and he found a large pallet that
he placed on top for a roof.
The ministry got some tarps and one can be found covering this mans home.
This week the weather was pretty rough
and the rain filled the tarp and his roof and walls came tumbling in.

Hope the rolls are ok I like the ones with fruit inside.
Any one want a warm up of joe.

About this man I found him behind the laundromat he said it like a free blow drier.
We loaded his things and went back you his home.
I had a extra tarp with me so another layer for the roof.
He lit the sterno and heated some water we prayed and ate some cup of noodles.
As I was about to leave He asked if we could say a prayer for his new roof.

I would like to ask all here to remember one of us who has fallen off the wagon,
He has got his 3rd DUI and looks like Prison time soon.
He is friend and God knows his name.
Lets remember him in prayer.

Sarge I want to thank you for this thread some times we have to dust things off
but we are safe from the outside when your here.
Fellowship in the family of God.

I placed the left over rolls into small bags and the styrocups are by the coffee pot.
Perhaps a tour of the camp might call for a new tarp or some sterno.

Lets leave the chairs in a circle I hope to meet here again soon.

A big brotherly hug
love brbruce

Hi Pattie Girl!

Hey, I know exactly what your saying about Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD. Lot's of folks around here get very depressed with body acute aches all over in the winter months because of it. One thing for sure, its a very real disorder! I get depressed every year about this time (not bad at all this year) because of a lack of Vitamin D and sunshine. The weather is the culprit and we even have clinics in this area for folks suffering from it. They have special lights you can lay under and medication. They also have group activities for those people who are shut-in most of the time and even provide transportation if needed. Some people think its crazy but alot of folks commit suicide this time of year and SAD is responsible in many of the cases. I think they used to call it "Cabin Fever" too, same thing. Although we've had lots of sunshine this year because of the weird weather patterns, it's not usually like this or even close. These mountains can be very unforgiving at times weather wise. I hear Alaska is the worse place of all for MAD.

I've actually seen periods here where we haven't seen the sun out (always behind thick cloud cover) for 4 to 5 months at a time! Then, when the sun does finally show its face your whole body jumps for joy and an instant rush of energy and pure joy feelings comes over you. What is even worse though is people that don't have many friends checking in on them or no visitors at all. That happened to me once when I was laid off and had a 4 1/2 month old baby to take care of. I actually had no human contact at all except for my baby. No phone or otherwise for a little over 4 months, yikes! I was SO depressed but at least, and I thank God for him, I had the baby to keep me busy and we had a great bonding period that I will never regret and in fact am very grateful for.

Btw, I watched the 8th Annual Puppy Bowl on the Animal Planet Channel instead of the Superbowl. A puppy named "Fumbles" won the Most Valuable Puppy (MVP) Award. Mate watched it too and we had a great time eating meatball subs and watching the puppy's, they are absolutely hysterical!

Unless Pittsburgh is playing I usually don't bother with any of it anymore. There was a time when I loved watching the football games through the whole season but something has changed I guess. I just don't get the same enjoyment I used too back in the day. I think probably cause I quit drinking and the bar was the place to go then to watch the game and drink. Everybody else was drinking too so I didn't notice how annoying drunks actually were till I quit and now, well, no thanks!

Mate sends Critter kisses and we both send y'all hugs. Stay warm sweetie. We'll talk more later.

Before I forget, who won the Super Bowl y'all, anyone know?

Hugs,
Sarge happy

You probably know by now, Giants.
My wife was diagnosed with S.A.D. I replaced all the bulbs with CFL daylight bulbs. I think it helped. She hasn't complained about winter as much in years. There was a TV show about Alaska. One episode was about a guy suffering from S.A.D. He was wearing a cap with a daylight in the bill and became addicted to it. He turned out getting too much daylight.

" I know a camel picked the Giants but what does a camel know and as far as that goes what do I know? "

I guess the camel knows more about football than I do. I turned on the news this morning and behind the people there was a sign that said " the Giants beat the Patriots, I did not keep it on to find out the score, I will find out on tonights news.

I am not aware of any of our friends and neighbors that have S.A.D. and I guess it is a mess. I know of people that complain they have cabin fever and that might be a low or minor case of S.A.D. as in the summer time I have never heard any one saying it.

Daylight bulbs are said to help, I have heard there are different frequencies for daylight bulbs and getting the right one is necessary.

We have a south facing sunroom so when there is sun we sit in it quite a bit.

" One episode was about a guy suffering from S.A.D. He was wearing a cap with a daylight in the bill and became addicted to it. "

I wonder if that is the same as people that can't get enough suntanning in the summer? They almost burn black, they become addicted to it.

I pray the best for all in every aspect of life in this new year.

I don't remember where you live, but here in WI the days get very short. Therefore you are exposed to daylight for a short time. It's even worse in Alaska were for a while it,s dark for 24 hours a day. It never bothered me. I worked nights most of the time. I think the name of the program was Northern Exposure. I liked it but it didn't last long. As I remember, I think the man became hyper.

Hello Brother Bruce,

Your friend is in my prayers. Also know you are welcome here anytime! I do very much enjoy your posts.

The chairs are fine out where they are and I'll be waiting for another time of fellowship with everyone.

The rolls and coffee were great and I will make a new pot. Just plug it in and it's ready.

See you on the trail my friend.

Best Regards,

Hi Guys! BRBruce-Sorry about your friend. Sometimes, no matter what you do or how hard you try, just doesn't work. No fault of your own, the person just doesn't want to change. Whew, thanks to the rest of you for all the stuff on S.A.D.! Glad to know I'm not the only one and the 'Cabin Fever' comparison make a whole lot of sense to me. The light in the duckbill kind of makes me laugh. Talk about extremes! It was beautiful here today and we got up to 63. Short lived though as the clouds are rolling in again and rain and freezing temps are predicted into next week. Didn't know they had 'daylight' CFL's-sounds interesting. I put one of Big Boy's perches in the bedroom window and he's had a great time watching what's going on outside. We have a couple of blue jays coming into the Manzanita trees making all their racket, looking for food. I used to feed a couple of them when I lived in South Pasadena. I'd leave them peanuts every morning. Boy, if I was late or didn't leave them any, they would really complain as only they can! Crying Smile Just as there is no snooze alarm on a cat or dog that wants breakfast, the Jays are even more vocal! Over at bro's house, we had a bunch of hummers and you could hear them too when the feeders were empty. I never knew it until bro read something somewhere-but-the hummers recognize the humans that feed them (just like my Jays did)! Sis couldn't reach the feeders so it was either Gary or I that would bring them out after we sanitized them and cooled off the sugar mix Sis made. Found out you have to boil the simple syrup for a while or it can develop bacteria that could harm the birds. If the feeders were empty after Bro and Sis went to work, I actually had 2 or 3 of them come back to the trailer to complain! Cute stuff. Anyway, the football game was really exciting for fans and it really came down to the last few seconds. Great game all the way through. Hope everybody had a great day and have a good one today (or tomorrow)! Love, Pattie and Critter (night Mate)!

Hey Pattie,

I did some research on SAD and am posting it here for anyone who may want to check it out.

Seasonal Affective Disorder S.A.D.

Definition
By Mayo Clinic staff

Seasonal affective disorder (also called SAD) is a type of depression that occurs at the same time every year. If you're like most people with seasonal affective disorder, your symptoms start in the fall and may continue into the winter months, sapping your energy and making you feel moody. Less often, seasonal affective disorder causes depression in the spring or early summer.

Treatment for seasonal affective disorder includes light therapy (phototherapy), psychotherapy and medications. Don't brush off that yearly feeling as simply a case of the "winter blues" or a seasonal funk that you have to tough out on your own. Take steps to keep your mood and motivation steady throughout the year.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/seasonal-affective-disorder/DS00195

I guess alot of folks don't even know they are being affected by it and just chalk it up as depression when in fact it has been found that it can be linked to suicide or suicidal tendencies.
The good part is is it's easy to treat if it's identified early.

Hey it was in the mid 50's again today and the sun was out most of the day. I tell ya, something very, very weird is going on with the planet!

My son got an award today (Outstanding Student Award) and was nominated again for the National Honor Society. Last year he didn't want any part of it and turned them down but he's had a change of heart this year. I'm know I'm bragging on him but I can't help it, it just makes me smile. I'm so proud of him bigtime!

Anyhoo, I wanted to tell you about Mate catching a mouse today. He was in his running pen getting some exercise and I was watching him out the window when I noticed him pouncing on something. I went out there to see what the heck was going on and he had already killed it and set it at my feet just like a cat would do. LOL! Then the mouse came back to life and Mate tried to bite him again but I held his collar so as to let the poor little thing get away. I started laughing and he started barking at me cause he didn't understand why I was laughing and wouldn't let him have mouse. It was hilarious but you would have had to been there and seen Mates face to understand. He looked at me like I was crazy and he lost his best friend. So, I brought him in and gave him a Scooby snack. He felt better then and forgot all about that mouse pretty quickly.

Well that's about all I did today other than watch some TV and got a really good mid day nap in. Hope you have a great day ahead Pattie and everybody! K, gonna check the weather channel and try to get some sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Nite Y'all,
Sarge happy

Hi ALL! Thanks everybody on the SAD info. Lots of great info for me. Hasn't been too bad around here for the past few days but the predictions are kind of 'dreary' for next week. They say around here about 'Oregon weather' - "Don't like the weather? Just wait 'bout half an hour, it'll change." Blink Seems to be a true story! Yesterday, it started out with fog and temps were just above freezing. Then, it went into a beautiful day with a high in the mid-sixties and sunny. Come about 18:00 (6.00 PM), man oh man, raining buckets and hail! Woke Critter up from his nap and he wouldn't leave me alone until I opened the door to let him see what all the racket was. He looked out the screen for a few, put his big rear into reverse and went back to his place under the bed! Was raining off and on almost all night but now it is beautiful and sunny but only about 45 or so. Hey SARGE. Congrats to your son for the award. Glad he has started to appreciate getting recognized. I can just picture Mate getting that mouse Laugh. Critter pulled off a good one last night. I thought his 'baby' (an electronic chirping bird that Sis gave him more than two years ago) had 'had it' so I ordered him some new ones. I figure 2 years of play and fondling is really good for a $5.00 toy. The new toys came in at the end of last week so when Critter was taking a nap in the bedroom, out of sight of the living room, I picked up the old one and put a new one down in it's place. I put the old one under paper and stuff in a box going to the re-cycle bin. I have several boxes at a time as it is a PITA to go all the way out to the parking lot to empty them and the plastics, so I pile them up to go once a week right after the truck comes. I forgot which box I put his toy in as I make sure nothing toxic is in any of them, just in case. Critter came out a while later, ate and watched TV for a while on his blanket. I was in the kitchen when I heard a of bunch of noise and came out to look. I watched as he went to this certain box (by now I had forgotten which box I used), dumped it over and was carefully taking out all the paper etc. and got the old toy out. He very calmly picked it up, put it with the new toy and the scooting rat toy Sis gave him this Christmas and laid over the top of them all. When he saw me, he gave me a look that said 'What the 'H' were you thinking - MINE!' LOL Funny how they give you these 'looks' that let pet parents know just what they are thinking! Kind of surprising you got that mouse away from Mate but guess it helps when the thing is still alive and moving around! OK guys - Hope everybody has a wonderful day - Love, Pattie

To all the ladies who visit here and the ones who don’t.

Happy Valentines Day

PS
I don't know who might have seen this, but NYC is offering a one and special Valentines tour.

NYC sewage plant to offer tours for lovers on Valentine's Day, billed as unforgettable

NEW YORK airplane -- It may not smell like a rose but a New York City sewage plant is offering tours for lovers on Valentine's Day.

The tour host and superintendent of the Newtown Creek Wastewater treatment plant in Brooklyn tells the Daily News ( http://nydn.us/xEFu6I ) it'll be a unique date, and one that special someone will never forget.

Jim Pynn says the highlight of the tour will be the plant's giant egg-shaped digesters, which break down the noxious waste into harmless sludge and gas.

Pynn says each Valentine's Day visitor will get a Hershey kiss - and at least something to talk about.

I wonder if the Hershey kisses are made on site?

Here's Terry
I was suspended. I changed financial accounts last month and the payment went through. This month for some reason it didn't. Basic sent me a bill in my email on Wed. Thurs. early morning the put me on suspension. It would have been nice if they would have given me a little time to make the payment.

Hi Terry Glad to see you back and nothing serious was going on. Also, nice to see you over 'here' Steve and glad you called Terry's absence to everybody's attention.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO EVERYONE!

Yesterday morning, there was snow on the ground here, in the valley! Didn't last for too long but it was really pretty. Guess we are back into winter for a while but now, for a few days, they are predicting a bunch of ups and downs temp wise. Kind of hard for an ex California girl to get used to-but-I love it here and will deal with it a day at a time. Of course, Critter's system is pretty well confused as to whether to put on his 'coat' or shed, but he's doing OK. Kind of a cold, cloudy day with maybe a little bit of rain predicted later so gotta get some stuff done now. Bye for now - and everybody have a great day - Love, Pattie

Hi Folks! RBKAY and NestGotJesus-How you doing? Kind of ridiculous what is going on in the religious forums JUNK! I think I saw something really hurtful for you Kay but it is kind of hard to tell with all those long postings and I get kind of lost with all the long quotes and then the answers down below as to who said what to whom. I am truly sorry if that thing I saw was hurtful for you. Totally undeserved. I think that the guys I have met here are intelligent and I can not believe that they just keep on answering the antagonistic ONE that clearly is just trying to get attention over and over. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Anyway, how is your weather? Mom Nature is wreaking her havoc up here as sometimes it starts grey and cloudy and then the sun comes out and is beautiful - or vice-versa. It was kind of pretty and not toooo cold Confused yesterday so I went shopping for a while. Darned if when I came out, it was hailing! Jeepers! Critter loves his new perch where he can look out the window but he still likes it when I open the inside door and feel the cold air and see things at floor level. How do your woods look RBKay? I remember that pix you posted before that was so pretty. Kind of hard to tell from the weather info we get up here as it just shows a quick map of across the 48 contiguous and then goes back to the local stuff. OK-it's almost 23:00 (11:00 P.M.) here and I couldn't sleep last night so I hope you are all in good health and doing well-talk to you later - Love, Pattie

Thanks Pattie. I appreciate your comment.
It was hurtful.

Our blueberry bushes had started to bloom and we had a couple of nights of around 20 degrees and the blooms look as though they are dead. I sure hope we get some more blooms so we,ll have some berries.
We do have a "you pick farm" down the road so I may be going there this year.

Hi RB. Hope all is well with you.

Kay
