If He had to be on a ship, a carrier is the best. I think the Enterprise had around 6,000 men on it, but there’s room to move around and it takes a hurricane to make the ship list. We had a basketball court,movie theatre,a junk food store which we called a gedunk,a post office and a radio station. The worst thing was the chow hall.There were 4,000 men that had to be fed, most of them at the same time. When I made rank, my k-P duty was counting heads. I ate first and stood at the head of the line clicking a counter.

I had k-p a couple of times. I had to scrub giant pots and pans. It wasn’t fun at all. You could actually climb INTO those things. Yikes! I can’t imagine feeding 4000 people at a time. I can remember so many people complaining about the food, not in front of the staff though. Fred, my cousin said NOBODY wanted to "upset" the cooks.Bad things would find its way into the hotcakes. lol! Can’t say here!But I bet you know ALL about that. I think it’s hilarious. I’d make SURE they were my friends, or not eat in the chow hall. At the Pentagon I used to give tours. Some of the trivia we threw out at people was about the Navy’s Enterprise. 6000 men, 3 football fields long, shopping malls and could run 12 years without refueling. It is nuclear powered. Can’t believe I still remembered that stuff. Sorry, gotta go J. I still have dishes and some paperwork to do. I might be on later if I don’t crash. It’s always good to talk with ya! Sarge

Hey J Im here. Sorry I wasnt posting. The Police are at my neighbors and I might be taking care of their children tonight for them. Three Little ones from ages 9 months to 8 yrs of age.

Hello Susan. I spent nine years in the navy. Some of it I enjoyed. I liked meeting people from other places.
