Hi Steve,

Put your sword away for a second.

I wanted to wish you a happy new year and wish the best for you and yours.

OK.

Peace, Beads and On Guard !!!

Prairie Doc
Thanks for the nice note.

Happy New Year to you as well.

Did you miss the Forum New Year’s Eve Gala we had?

I don’t recall you being there.

Did things ever work out with that gal?

You need to find one that enjoys being dragged around by the hair. lol

A woman like that is hard to find these days. For some reason animal prints are still popular though. Hmm...

There may be hope after all.

Wow.

There’s no pleasing you. You hate it when we fight and you hate it when we get along. You’re only happy when we ignore each other.

Happy New Year!

AA Thought for the Day

(courtesy AAOnline.net)

January 8, 2010

Easy Does It

We must learn to walk before we can run.

That’s why we have these slogans.

I use that "Easy Does It" every day, to slow me down a little.

I have to watch myself all the time.

So I don’t just take the inventory at night --

I take it continually throughout the day.

Before I step out and do anything, I stop and check it over first,

and then let my conscience be my guide.

For me, AA has become a way of life.

Thought to Ponder . . .

Rashness and haste make all things insecure: Take it easy!

AA-related ’Alconym’ . . .

O D A A T = One Day At A Time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today’s Meditation:

Your life has been given to you mainly for the purpose of training your soul.

This life we live is not so much for the body as for the soul. We often

choose the way of life that best suits the body, not the way that best suits

the soul. God wants you to choose what suits the soul as well as the body.

Accept this belief and a wonderful molding of character is the result.

Reject it and God’s purpose for your life is frustrated, and your spiritual

progress is delayed. Your soul is being trained by the good you choose.

Thus the purpose of your life is being accomplished.

Today’s Prayer:

I pray that I may choose what is good for my soul. I pray that I may realize

God’s purpose for my life.

Today’s Quotable:

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the

experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination

to do so.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today’s Tool:

When in doubt: easy does it, but do it.

My wife and I decided to start having morning dates to breakfast due to crazy schedules. So this morning I went in late to work after my date and then working out. I started thinking about the tools and hammered out a pretty good one until the computer ate the darn thing. It revolved around easy does it. It went something like this: When I get caught up in the politics of work and second guessing myself and the decisions I make it feeds into my insecurities. Things tend to be better when I remember what my first sponsor used to say “easy does it but do it.” That’s kinda how it went.

Tool for the day; Easy does it, but do it.

Stupid computer.

Ya’ll have a great day.

Tom

Hmmmm... I’m not sure if a man that works with the homeless could handle real life.

Thanks for sharing your testimony Sarge.

Congratulations on six years of sobriety.

Considering the hold alcohol once had on you, that’s quite an accomplishment.

God is still in the business of transforming lives.

The capacity for getting along with our neighbor depends to a large extent on

the capacity for getting along with ourselves.

The self-respecting individual will try to be as tolerant of his neighbor’s shortcomings as he is of his own.

Shortcomings? Yes.

Bad doctrine? No.

Ultimately, America’s answer to the intolerant man is diversity,

the very diversity which our heritage of religious freedom has inspired.

There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us,

that it behooves all of us not to talk about the rest of us.

That’s what I get for agreeing with you.

My beliefs are supported by scripture...

We can see what yours are supported by.

The quote I posted said nothing about salvation, yet You found a way to fit Your intolerant beliefs into it.

Your beliefs that You have a right to judge and condemn are not supported by Scripture.

We always knew where you are coming from. That’s no surprise and You can claim to agree all You want to. We all know why You attempted to prove the quote wrong.
