How do we Love?

What He ( Jesus ) Did For Us

Someone said, “ The hinge of history is on the door of a Bethlehem stable. ” How true! History is primarily His story — the story of Jesus!

His supernatural virgin birth was foretold 700 years beforehand,

Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Immanuel means “ God with us ”

Matthew 1:23

“ The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel ” — “ God with us. ”

That name reveals the purpose of Jesus’ birth — the plan whereby God could fellowship with us.

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

To fellowship with us.

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

God created man for fellowship, but man’s sin produced an obstacle separating him from a holy God.

1Timothy 3:16

Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

Before the first sin by Adam and Eve, God devised a plan in which His Son would redeem man from sin. This plan included all of us,

Isaiah 59:2

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

Jesus “ was chosen before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you ”.

Romans 3:23-24

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Jesus was born to die on the cross to bring us into fellowship with God.

1Peter 1:20

He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

What have you done about it?

John 3:15

that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

“ To those who received Him, to them he gave the power to become the sons of God. "

John 1:12

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God —

Have you believed and received Jesus as your Savior?

There is no time like N O W!

===========================================

The above is Scipture from some of the writers but below are the words of Jesus . . .

Matthew 25:31-46

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.

32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,

43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Read vv 41& 46 and understand these are the words Jesus spoke and I doubt He was pulling your leg or just kidding.

Take heed and turn the ‘ false teachers ‘ off, tune them out and listen to Jesus.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Brothers and sisters please turn a deaf ear to the ‘ false teachers ‘. They are Satan driven and do not care about your well being.

FALSE TEACHERS will tell you; if you believe you do not need to do anything. You do not need to do any work as your salvation is not based on works.

They do not tell you that you have been saved to DO good works.

The works is not done to be saved but you do good works BECAUSE you have beed saved.

Titus 1:16

They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good

Hebrews 6:10

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

God as “not unjust.” It is the character of God, the perfectly just judge of all, that gives rise to confidence. This God will not forget what His people have done.

The statement about his remembrance of their work is not an result of a doctrine of salvation by works.

But the Christian profession of the readers had been more than formal and they had shown in changed lives what that profession meant.

The following words show that it is deeds of kindness to men that are in mind.

Such deeds, proceeding from loving hearts as they do, demonstrate that the doers have a real affection for God. These Christians have served God’s people in the past and they continue with this kind of service.

Thus they manifest the love for man that is a proof of real love for God

( 1John 4:19-21 ).

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

1Timothy 5:25

In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden.

1Timothy 6:18

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

1Peter 2:12

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

James 2:20

You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?

James 2:26

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Hebrews 10:24

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

James 2:14

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?

James 2:18

But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

James 2:20

You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?

James 2:26

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Hebrews 13:16

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

James 4:17

Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.

The above is Scipture from some of the writers but below are the words of Jesus . . .

More to continue to show ' false teachers ' are ' false Christians '.

* Humble knowledge of self is a surer path to God than the ardent pursuit of learning.

* Many often err and accomplish little or nothing because they try to become learned rather than to live for God.

* If men used as much care in uprooting vices and implanting virtues as they do in discussing problems, there would not be so much evil and scandal in the world.

* How many there are who perish because of vain worldly knowledge and too little care for serving God.

* WHEN a man desires a thing too much, he at once becomes ill at ease. A proud and avaricious man never rests.  ( You can see this in the forums. )

* Do not take pride in your talent or ability, lest you displease God to whom belongs all the natural gifts that you have.

^ We are too occupied with our own whims and fancies, too taken up with passing things. Rarely do we completely conquer even one vice, and we are inflamed with the desire to improve ourselves day by day; hence, we remain cold and indifferent.

* What good does it do to speak learnedly about the Trinity if, lacking humility? It is not learning that makes a man holy and just, but a virtuous life makes him pleasing to God.

* For what would it profit us to know the whole Bible by heart and the principles of all the philosophers if we live without grace and the love of God?

* It is vanity to love what passes quickly and not to look ahead where eternal joy abides.

* It is vanity to love what passes quickly and not to look ahead where eternal joy abides.

* “The eye is not satisfied with seeing nor the ear filled with hearing.” (Eccl 1:8.)

Try to turn your heart from the love of things visible and bring yourself to things invisible. For they who follow their own evil passions stain their consciences and lose the grace of God.

* To know Scriptures is not knowing God.

* What good is knowledge without fear of God?

* Shun the great desire for knowledge, for in it there is much fretting and delusion. Intellectuals like to appear learned and to be called wise.

* The more you know and the better you understand, the more severely will you be judged.

* Why prefer yourself to anyone else when many are more learned, more cultured than you?
