And he comes when hes summoned
And he does what must be done
And he lives for the movement
Takes pride in being one
Of the lucky and the chosen and the perfect men
And the stranger is with us again

I cannot believe
Nor even pretend
That the thunder I hear will just disapear
And the nightmare will end
But hold back the fire
Because this much is true
When alls said and done
The ending will come
From out of the blue

Im driving a stolen car
On a pitch black night
And Im telling myself
Its gonna be all right
So I ride my line
And I travel in fear
That in this darkness
I will disappear

They say that when it comes to choosing heroes
Its best to pick the ones who arent around
If you choose among the living
You tend to have misgivings
When your hero lets you down He might have a bad night in your town
And so I will not name my heroes
And Ill keep my distance when I can
But if time should bend or break them
I hope I wont forsake them
If by chance they need a friend
Or need to walk on ordinary ground
God knows it must be tough to be a heroTo wake up in a heros state of mind
They say its hard to be heroic
Much easier to blow it
When somebodys watching all the time And youre dancing on the thin edge of a dime
They say its hard, so hard
They say its hard, aint it hard
If someday Im mistaken for a hero I only hope its after I am gone
Some of us are heroes
Some of us are zeroes
Wannabes who never were the one
But who is who when all is said and done
Repeat first verse
Heroes by John Gorka

Billy Dalton staggered on the sidewalk someone said he stumbled and he fell
Six squad cars came screamin to the rescue hauled old Billy Dalton off to jail
Cause the law is for protection of the people rulesre rules and any fool can see
We dont need no drunks like Billy Dalton scaring decent folks like you and me no siree
Homar Lee was nothing but a hippie walkin through this world without a care
Then one day six scrapping brave policemen held down Homar Lee and cut his hair
Cause the law is for protection of the people rulesre rules and any fool can see
We dont need no hairy headed hippies scaring decent folks like you and me no siree
Oh so thank your lucky stars weve got protection
Walk the line and never mind the cost
And dont wonder who them lawmen were protecting
When they nailed the Saviour to the cross
Cause the law is for protection of the people rulesre rules and any fool can see
We dont need no riddle speaking prophets
Scaring decent folks like you and me no siree
Law Is For Protection Of The People......by Kris Kristofferson

Ive been workin in corners all alone at night
Pullin down whiskey
Keepin my eyes away from the lights
Ill never be a fool but I will gamble foolishly
Ive never let go of love
Till I lost it in my dreams
I dont want to go to sleep
Cause I just might dream

This ones for you Ms. M.
I get no kick from champagne.
Mere alcohol doesnt thrill me at all.
So tell me why should it be true
That I get a kick out of you?
Some, they may go for cocaine.
Im sure that if I took even one sniff
It would bore me terrifically, too.
Yet I get a kick out of you.
I get a kick every time I see
You standing there before me.
I get a kick though its clear to see
You obviously do not adore me.
I get no kick in a plane.
Flying too high with some gal in the sky
Is my idea of nothing to do.
Yet I get a kick - um you give me a boot - I get a kick out of you.
Old Frank Sinatra song.
Not sure who ACTUALLY wrote it.
Peace, Beads and I Get A Kick Out Of You Ms. M.

It was Mick Jagger, but I dont know the year.Sometimes in the late 70s I believe. It was about the Devil, which was the name of the song.

I saw a documentary about the Altimont (sp?) concert where they had the Hells Angels do their security. A black guy pulled a gun on one of the bikers during that song and was stabbed in the neck several times.
The only place they would show this documentary was at a porn theatre, so I had to sit through a movie about 2 junkies that had a lot of sex and ended up ODing. Very inspiring. I went and did a bunch of Jimson weed the next day and SAW the Grim Reaper everywhere. I was lucky to live through that.
