Good Morning. Today is the fourth workday of the week....mitwoch.

Section 12

Christian Growth and Experience

Chapter 124.

The Ministry of Sorrow

1. WHY is it better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting?
"It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men and the living will lay it to his heart." Eccl. 7:2.

2. What did David ask God to teach him?
"Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is, that I may know how frail I am." Ps. 39:4 See also Ps. 90:12.

3. Why is sorrow better than laughter?
"Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better." Eccl. 7:3.

NOTE.-"Many of the loveliest songs of peace and trust and hope which God's children sing in this world they have been taught in the hushed and darkened chambers of sorrow. . . . Afflictions, sanctified, soften the asperities of life. They tame the wildness of nature. They temper human ambitions. They burn out the dross of selfishness and worldliness. They humble pride. They quell fierce passions. They reveal to men their own hearts, their own weakness, faults, blemishes, and perils. They teach patience and submission. They discipline unruly spirits. They deepen and enrich our experience."- Week-Day Religion," by J. R. Miller, D. D., pages 92, 93.

5. Does God delight to afflict any?
"For the Lord will not cast off forever: but though He cause grief, yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies. For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men." Lam. 3:31-33.

6. Does He afflict to leave the one chastened in despair?
"Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: for He maketh sore, and bindeth up: He woundeth, and His hands make whole." Job 5:17,18.

7. In what language is the same truth again expressed?
"Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He hath smitten, arid He will bind us up." Hosea 6:1. See also Isa. 61:1-3.

8. Whom does the Lord chasten?
"For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth." Heb. 12:6.

9. Is this, for the time being, a source of pleasure?
"Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." Verse 11.

NOTE.-"Many of the sweetest joys of Christian hearts are songs which have been learned in the bitterness of trial." "Many a cold, icy nature is made warm and tender by the grief that crushes it."- "Week-Day Religion," by J. R. Miller, D. D., pages 91, 93.

10. What, aside from sin, causes more sorrow than all else?
Death, or the loss of loved ones.

11. Does death bring to Christians unassuaged sorrow?
"I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope." 1 Thess. 4:13.

NOTE.-The loss of loved ones God often uses as a means of conversion and of severing the ties which bind to earth. Persecution; sickness; the loss of sight, hearing, or limb; the loss of property; or other calamities may likewise be instrumental in drawing us nearer to God. See Ps. 119:71; Isa. 26:9.

12. What do our transient afflictions do for us?
"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." 2 Cor. 4:17. See Rom. 8:28.

Does the papacy acknowledge changing the Sabbath?
It does.
The Catechismus Romanus was commanded by the Council of Trent and published by the Vatican Press, by order of Pope Pius V, in 1566. This catechism for priests says: "It pleased the church of God, that the religious celebration of the Sabbath day should be transferred to 'the Lord's day. Sunday.'" Catechism of the Council of Trent (Donovan's translation, 1867), part 3, chap. 4, p. 345. The same in slightly different wording, is in the McHugh and Callan translation (1937 ed.), p. 402.

Do Catholic authorities acknowledge that there is no command in the bible for santification of Sunday?
They do.
"You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify." James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of Our Fathers (1917 ed.), pp. 72,73.

How did Sunday observance originate?
As a voluntary celebration of the Resurrection, a custom without pretense of Divine authority.

Who first enjoined Sunday keeping by law?
Constantine the Great.
"The earliest recognition of the observance of Sunday as a legal duty is a constitution of Constantine in 321 A.D., enacting that all courts of justice, inhabitants of towns, and workshops were to be at rest on Sunday (venerabili die solis), with an exception in favor of those engaged in agricultural labor." Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th ed., art. "Sunday".
By what church council was the observance of the seventh day forbidden and Sunday observance enjoined?
The Council of Laodicea, in Asia Minor, fourth century.

What kind of worship does the Saviour call that which is not according to God's commandments?
"But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men." Matt. 15:9

Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1957), p. 50.
"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
"Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.
"Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?"Answer. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."

Martin J. Scott, Things Catholics Are Asked About (1927),p. 136.
"Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that worship should be changed from Saturday to Sunday .... Now the Church ... instituted, by God's authority, Sunday as the day of worship. This same Church, by the same divine authority, taught the doctrine of Purgatory long before the Bible was made.
We have, therefore, the same authority for Purgatory as we have for Sunday."

Todays' Sabbath School lesson: Wednesday....September 27 The Unity of Faith
In Ephesians 4, Paul asks believers to stop doing some things and to be sure to do others. What are those things?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
Ephesians 4 begins and ends with calls to care for each other as church members (Eph. 4:1–3, 32). Between these invitations, Paul offers strong support for the idea that we should nourish unity in the church. He begins by listing seven “ones”: There is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord (Jesus Christ), one faith, one baptism, one God and Father (Eph. 4:4–6). We are bound together by these spiritual realities. We are, in fact, united.

While unity is a theological certainty, it requires our hard work. So, we should always be “endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit” (Eph. 4:3, NKJV). One way each of us may do so is by being an active “part” of the body of Christ (Eph. 4:7–16). Every member is a gifted part of the body and should contribute to the health of it (Eph. 4:7, 16). And all should benefit by the work of apostles, prophets, evange- lists, pastors, and teachers (Eph. 4:11, 12). These, like ligaments and tendons, have a unifying function, helping us grow up together into Christ who is the Head of the body (Eph. 4:13, 15).
At the time, Paul also told them “that we should no longer be chil- dren, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting” (Eph. 4:14, NKJV), words that clearly suggest that the early church faced some internal struggles from “the trickery of men.”

As Paul moves toward his final appeal, to “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another” (Eph. 4:32, NKJV), he asks believers to avoid their former hard-heartedness (Eph. 4:17–24) and to avoid anger and harsh speech, substituting instead language that builds up and imparts grace (Eph. 4:25–31).

This chapter on unity is easy enough to read when things are peaceful. It is more challenging—and important—to read it when we become embroiled in some conflict. Are you remembering today to experience the unity of the body of Christ, the unity for which He died?

What are ways that we can contribute to the unity of our church, both at the local and worldwide levels? Why is it important that we do what we can?
Many wonder today why the Republican party does nothing to defeat the treasonous
schemes of the Democrats. It is because the pope’s Jesuits have thoroughly
infiltrated the Republican party as well as the Democratic party. Many wonder why
the news media lie so much to support and protect the Democrats. It is because the
pope’s Jesuits have thoroughly infiltrated the news media. The news media and
schools and colleges, with their lies and propaganda, have so conditioned the
people of the country that they are unable to recognize what has been done to them.
Victory for the Jesuits seems very near. The Jesuits are like a cancer that has
pervaded nearly every fiber of the society of the United States. We are being
defeated by the enemy within.

For many years the Jesuits have prevented the United States from developing
additional sources of energy within its own territory. Exploiting the vast oilfields on
the Alaskan north slope, that probably contain more oil than the entire middle east,
is forbidden. New nuclear power plants, the safest source of electric energy ever
discovered, are not permitted. There is no end to the lies people have been made to
believe about Nuclear energy. The environment is used as the club to subdue the
people of the country into going along with this idiocy. Modern technology is able to
develop these sources of power without any damage to the environment. France
gets 80% of its power from nuclear power plants without any problems. Needless to
say, without sufficient energy, the United States will not be able to defend itself. All
the papacy has to do is cut off the oil supply from the middle east.

The United States is now starting to feel the pinch of the energy shortage the Jesuits
have created. People have experienced blackouts over large areas as power is shut
off to stay within the limits of generating capacity. Today, instead of constructing
additional nuclear power plants, some of these plants are being dismantled! Will the
people of the United States be able to wake up in time to prevent the coming
national tragedy?

Not only in the United States is this treachery being perpetrated by the papacy, but
they are secretly at work all over the world to subvert all the nations of the world.

I don't mind debating you, but at least attempt to stick with actual, verifiable facts. Until you accept obvious facts it is difficult to debate.

open borders....look at the dem cities.

We do not have "open" borders, that is right-wing propaganda.

energy dependant......we are hurting.

We were energy independent under Obama and we are still a world leading EXPORTER of energy.

lives lost overseas.....not to mention property.....military gear

We have lost lives overseas under EVERY POTUS including Trump!

economy in tatters

Again, more right-wing propaganda. The economy is doing fine with lowest unemployment in decades, under Trump, millions of jobs were lost!

social upheaval

Trump brought us most of the "social upheaval" when he said there were good Nazis and KKK members and encouraged fringe right-wing extremists like the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the rest of the domestic terrorists Trump sent to overthrow our election on January 6, 2021.

crime rampant across the land

https://usafacts.org/state-of-the-union/crime-justice/

Violent crime fell by 1.7% in 2021 after growing by 4.6% in 2020. Property crime fell for the second year in a row in 2021 by 4.5%.

evil in the house of biden

What about the felonious Trump crime family? No person under indictment is qualified to run for ANY public office. The entire Trump family is guilty of tremendous fraud and may be banned from doing business in New York.

America is reeling from the effects of the dems.........

Yes, America is reeling because of the obstructionist Republican party blocking ANY good the Democrats have tried to accomplish.

you are entirely quiet....what does this say of you?

You're right, I am quiet because I support much of the Democrat's agenda.

Mr hater of America?.....you are obsessed with Trump.......and are entirely quiet on the bidens.......

I do not hate the United States of America, YOU support the insurrection and traitorous Republican party! If Trump simply faded away, I would not have to point out his corruption, but he is attempting to steal another election that he is clearly not qualified to fulfill.

shame on your butt.

I have no need of shame, but you, on the other and support the most evil, corrupt person ever to sully the White House!

compare the four years of Trump.....since biden took office America has been flushed down the toilet.

Obviously, you are simply ignorant and blind, not only in politics, but in your religion as well! Trump broke treaties, alienating long time allies and making this nation the laughing stock of the world. In the world, we lost all respect when we put a failed, bumbling criminal TV host into the highest office in the land!
The difference between patriotism and nationalism is that the patriot is proud of his country for what it does, and the nationalist is proud of his country no matter what it does; the first attitude creates a feeling of responsibility, but the second a feeling of blind arrogance that leads to war.

Section 12

Christian Growth and Experience

Chapter 125.

Comfort in Affliction

1. ARE God's people free from affliction?
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." Ps. 34:19.

2. How does God regard the afflicted?
"He heareth the cry of the afflicted." Job 34:28.

3. What has He promised to be to those in trouble?
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Ps. 46:1.

"For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust." Verse 14.

6. What has the Lord promised to be to the oppressed?
"The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble." Ps. 9:9.

7. What has God promised His children when passing through trials and. afflictions?
"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." Isa. 43:2.

Page 563

8. What did David say with reference to his being afflicted?
"It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Thy statutes." Ps. 119:71.

9. When afflicted, for what did he pray?
"Look upon my affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins." Ps. 25:18.

10. Before he was afflicted, what did he do?
"Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept Thy word." Ps. 119:67.

11. What did Christ learn through suffering?

12. In perfecting character, what must come to all?
"And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of Him: for whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth." Heb. 12:5,6.

13. Is this chastening a pleasant experience?
"Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." Verse 11.

19. Why does God comfort us in tribulation?
"Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be
able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." 2 Cor. 1:4.

NOTE.-One who has passed through trouble and affliction himself, and received comfort from God, is better able to minister comfort to others.

20. How should we sympathize with others in their sorrows?
"Weep with them that weep." Rom. 12:15. "To him that is afflicted pity should be showed from his friend." Job 6:14.

"When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, and said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto Him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept." John 11:33-35.

NOTE.-Not alone for Mary and her friends did Jesus weep. Looking down through the ages, He saw the tears and the heartaches which death would bring to mankind in this sin-stricken world. His heart was touched with human woe, and He wept with those that wept.

23. Whatever may come, what blessed assurance has every one who loves God?
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God." Rom. 8:28.

NOTE.-If one loves God, he may rest assured that out of every trial and affliction good will come.

For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." Verses 14-18.

Page 566

26. What promise has God made to bereaved mothers?
"Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy." Jer. 31:16.

27. What did Christ say would be the experience of His people in this world?
"In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." "Ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy." John 16:33, 20.

28. In what respect is the reaping of God's people to differ from their sowing?
"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." Ps. 126:5,6.

SOMETIME when all life's lessons have been learned,
And sun and moon forevermore have set,
The things that our weak judgments here have spurned,
The things o'er which we grieved with lashes wet,
Will flash before us, out of life's dark night,
As stars shine most in deepest tints of blue,
And we shall see how all God's ways were right,
And how what seemed reproof was love most true.
MAY RILEY SMITH.

BE of good cheer! I know sometime
Life's song will run in perfect rhyme.
Somewhere, I know, all things will be
Attuned to perfect harmony.
Sometime, somewhere, each sad refrain
Shall be its own surcease of pain.
The compensation love will send
Will be in bringing friend to friend;
And all the heartaches that we bore,
In God's good time will be no more.
ROBERT LEE WALDEN.

Peter R. Kraemer, Catholic Church Extension Society (1975),Chicago, Illinois.
"Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts:

That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe the Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man.
"2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages and a thousand other laws.

It is always somewhat laughable, to see the Protestant churches, in pulpit and legislation, demand the observance of Sunday, of which there is nothing in their Bible."

"I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says,
Enright, C.S.S.R., in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas, Feb. 18,1884.
'Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.' The Catholic Church says: 'No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week.' And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in a reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church."

Protestant Confessions
Protestant theologians and preachers from a wide spectrum of denominations have been quite candid in admitting that there is no Biblical authority for observing Sunday as a sabbath.

Anglican/Episcopal
Isaac Williams, Plain Sermons on the Catechism , vol. 1, pp.334, 336.
"And where are we told in the Scriptures that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the seventh; but we are nowhere commanded to keep the first day .... The reason why we keep the first day of the week holy instead of the seventh is for the same reason that we observe many other things, not because the Bible, but because the church has enjoined it."

Canon Eyton, The Ten Commandments , pp. 52, 63, 65.
"There is no word, no hint, in the New Testament about abstaining from work on Sunday .... into the rest of Sunday no divine law enters.... The observance of Ash Wednesday or Lent stands exactly on the same footing as the observance of Sunday."

We have made the change from the seventh day to the first day, from Saturday to Sunday, on the authority of the one holy Catholic Church."

Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, a paper read before a New York ministers' conference, Nov. 13, 1893, reported in New York Examiner , Nov.16, 1893.
"There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week .... Where can the record of such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament absolutely not.

"To me it seems unaccountable that Jesus, during three years' intercourse with His disciples, often conversing with them upon the Sabbath question . . . never alluded to any transference of the day; also, that during forty days of His resurrection life, no such thing was intimated.

"Of course, I quite well know that Sunday did come into use in early Christian history . . . . But what a pity it comes branded with the mark of paganism, and christened with the name of the sun god, adopted and sanctioned by the papal apostasy, and bequeathed as a sacred legacy to Protestantism!"

William Owen Carver, The Lord's Day in Our Day , p. 49.
"There was never any formal or authoritative change from the Jewish seventh-day Sabbath to the Christian first-day observance."

Congregationalist
Dr. R. W. Dale, The Ten Commandments (New York: Eaton &Mains), p. 127-129.
" . . . it is quite clear that however rigidly or devotedly we may spend Sunday, we are not keeping the Sabbath - . . 'Me Sabbath was founded on a specific Divine command. We can plead no such command for the obligation to observe Sunday .... There is not a single sentence in the New Testament to suggest that we incur any penalty by violating the supposed sanctity of Sunday."

Timothy Dwight, Theology: Explained and Defended (1823), Ser. 107, vol. 3, p. 258.
" . . . the Christian Sabbath [Sunday] is not in the Scriptures, and was not by the primitive Church called the Sabbath."

We Are Recipients and Givers of Grace
As you read Ephesians 5, reflect on how Paul asks us to live out the gospel in our relationships with others. Which of his exhortations is especially meaningful to you?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
If you start reading Ephesians 5 at its beginning, you may miss the full power of an important theme. So, start instead with Ephesians 4:32, in which Paul tells the Ephesians to “be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you” (NKJV).

As believers, we are called to model our behavior toward others on God’s forgiveness and grace toward us. We are to imitate God! (Compare Matt. 5:43–48.)

Paul contrasts this imitating-the-love-of-God lifestyle with the usual, pagan approach. Instead of treasuring others as brothers or sisters in the family of God, humans all too often use others for their own sexual pleasure and then brag about it (Eph. 5:3, 4). He warns that such an approach has no future in the new world God is planning (Eph. 5:5–7).

Instead, believers are to turn from the darkness of their past and “walk as children of light” (Eph. 5:8–10), mimicking the Father’s love. Again, Paul warns us away from “works of darkness” done “in secret” (Eph. 5:11, 12). By contrast, we are to live in the light of Christ (Eph. 5:13, 14). Rather than wasting our lives in drunkenness, we will be “redeeming the time” by offering thanks to God for His love (see Eph. 5:15–21).

Paul extends his theme of imitating God’s love as he advises Christian husbands and wives. Christ’s self-sacrificing love for the church becomes the model for Christian husbands (Eph. 5:25–33), while the loyalty of the church toward Christ becomes the model for Christian wives (Eph. 5:22–24). Rather than using the gift of human sexuality in a debauched and selfish way, a Christian husband and wife focus on valuing and treasuring each other, becoming “one flesh” (Eph. 5:28–33).

“Be imitators of God as dear children” (Eph. 5:1, NKJV). By God’s grace, you are called today to live out that exhortation in your relation- ships with others.

How does Ephesians 5:2, which tells us to “walk in love,” help us understand what Paul means in Ephesians 5:1 about being “imitators of God”?
Many wonder today why the Republican party does nothing to defeat the treasonous
schemes of the Democrats. It is because the pope’s Jesuits have thoroughly
infiltrated the Republican party as well as the Democratic party. Many wonder why
the news media lie so much to support and protect the Democrats. It is because the
pope’s Jesuits have thoroughly infiltrated the news media. The news media and

people of the country that they are unable to recognize what has been done to them.

In some cases you are wrong, however, there are always ebbs and flows of migrants trying to cross our southern border, it has been this way for 100 years... certainly nothing new. We have always had open borders and the Statue of Liberty welcomes the downtrodden yearning for a better life.

Leviticus 19:34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

the dem sanctuary cities are clean and orderly......thanks to the dems.......we need more dems......less repubs..........for sure

Please, show me the clean and orderly cities under Republican control.

America isn't energy independent anymore......I was wrong about that too.........gas prices are not high.......my imagination.......

Gasoline prices are very high, blame the oil companies that are reaping massive, record-breaking profits. They selectively close refinery production to keep the prices high. However, the United States is a world-leading energy EXPORTER because we are STILL energy independent.

we are indeed well-respected in the world......I am wrong about that too.

Yes, now that Trump is no longer in charge, Biden has managed to rebuild many of the international relations and restore our place in the world.

Generally speaking, we have very little to fear from most of the aggressive nations because we have a far superior military and many alliances.

the successes of Trump are just a marage.....he is not a successful business man......I'm wrong about that too.

There are more failed Trump businesses than successes. He built his fortune by not paying his bills, even his own lawyers. Did you ever wonder why lawyers now demand money up front from Trump? Had daddy not bailed him out repeatedly, he would be nothing.

the bidens are upstanding world figures and we can be proud of them!!!!!!

I don't believe any politician is totally upstanding in every aspect of their lives. I am certainly more proud of Biden than I could ever be with the insurrectionist Trump!

to debate you is not possible.....you know all things and you are NEVER wrong about anything!!!!

Show me my error with actual facts and I will freely admit my error. I am sometimes wrong, I am human after all.

No, you are simply being facetious. George W Bush invaded Afghanistan and then illegally invaded Iraq costing our nation thousands of deaths and casualties costing the tax-paying American TRILLIONS of dollars. The withdrawal from Afghanistan was a fiasco initiated by Trump and carried out under Biden. Trump gave the Taliban legitimacy thereby undoing any good we might have been able to accomplish there.

you are a true blue democrat.

there is so much more, but YOU know it all........I am not in your league........

Good Morning. Today is the preparation, the sabbath is drawing on.
Genesis 4:7 (KJV)
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Genesis 26:5 (KJV)
5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Isaiah 56:1-2 (KJV) 1 Thus saith the LORD,
Keep ye judgment, and do justice:
for my salvation is near to come,
and my righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man that doeth this,
and the son of man that layeth hold on it;
that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it,
and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Isaiah 58:13-14 (KJV) 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy of the Lord, honourable;

and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways,
nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord;
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; 22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction
(Jeremiah 17:21-23 KJV)

The Bible holy day is the Seventh Day.

Genesis 2:
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Exodus 20:
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Leviticus 23:3
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Isaiah 58:
13 ¶If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Section 9

The Sabbath

Chapter 96.

The Sabbath in the New Testament

1. ACCORDING to the New Testament, what day immediately precedes the first day of the week?
"In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week." Matt. 28:1.

NOTE.-According to the New Testament, therefore, the Sabbath had passed when the first day of the week began.

2. After the crucifixion, what day was kept by the women who followed Jesus?
"And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment." Luke 23:56.

3. What day is the Sabbath, "according to the commandment"?
"But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Ex. 20:10.

4. What was Christ's custom respecting the Sabbath?
"And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read." Luke 4:16.

5. In what instruction to His disciples did Christ recognize the existence of the Sabbath long after His ascension?
"But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day." Matt. 24:20.

NOTE.-The destruction of Jerusalem under Titus occurred in the spring and summer of 70 A.D. The flight of the Christians took place three and one-half years earlier, or late in October, 66 A. D., following the arrival and sudden withdrawal of Cestius and his army. See readings in Chapter 68. of this book.

6. On what day did the Jews meet for worship?
"Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day." Acts 15:21.

7. On what day did Paul and Barnabas preach at Antioch?
"They came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day." Acts 13:14.

8. When did the Gentiles request that Paul should repeat the sermon he had preached at Antioch on the Sabbath?
"And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath." Verse 42.

9. On what day did Paul and his companions preach to the devout women at Philippi?
"And on the Sabbath we went out of the city by a riverside, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither." Acts 16:13.

10. What was Paul's manner respecting the Sabbath?
"They came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: and Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the Scriptures." Acts 17:1,2.

NOTE.-It was Paul's manner, as it was Christ's custom (Luke 4:16), to attend religious services on the Sabbath.

11. How did the apostle spend the working days of the week when at Corinth?
"After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; and found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; . . . and because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tent-makers." Acts 18:1-3. See Eze. 46:1.

12. What did he do on the Sabbath days?
"And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks." Acts 18:4.

13. How long did he continue this work there?
"And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them." Verse 11.

NOTE.-Here, then, were seventy-eight Sabbaths on which Paul preached in one city. The record further says that he worked at his trade, and we may justly infer that Paul worked at tent-making just as many Sundays as he preached Sabbaths. If to these seventy-eight Sabbaths we add the three he spent at Thessalonica, the one at Philippi, and the two at Antioch, we have a record of eighty-four Sabbaths on which the apostle held religious services, while, so far as the record shows, he held only one meeting on the first day of the week, and that a night meeting, immediately following the Sabbath. See Acts 20. Evidently Sunday was not the Sabbath in Paul's day.

14. On what day was John in the Spirit?
"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day." Rev. 1:10.

15. Who is Lord of the Sabbath?
"The Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath." Mark 2:28.

16. What, through the prophet Isaiah, does the Lord call the Sabbath?
"If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day." Isa. 58:13.

17. Why does the Lord call the Sabbath His day?
"For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it." Ex.20:11.

18. Through whom did God create the world?
"God. . . hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, . . . by whom also He made the worlds." Heb. 1:1,2.

NOTES.-From beginning to end, the Bible recognizes but one weekly Sabbath,- the day upon which God rested in the beginning; which was made known to Israel at Sinai (Neh. 9:13,14); was observed by Christ and His apostles; and is to be kept by the redeemed in the world to come. Isa. 66:22,23.

The terms Sabbath, Sabbaths, and Sabbath days occur sixty times in the New Testament, and in every case but one refer to the seventh day. In Col. 2:16,17, reference is made to the annual sabbaths connected with the three annual feasts observed by Israel before the first advent of Christ.

The first day of the week is mentioned but eight times in the New Testament, six of which are found in the four Gospels, and refer to the day on which Christ arose from the dead. See Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1,19. The other two (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2) refer to the only religious meeting held on the first day of the week after the ascension, in apostolic times, recorded in the New Testament and to a systematic accounting and laying by in store at home on that day for the poor saints in Judea and Jerusalem.

It is evident, therefore, that the Sabbath of the New Testament is the same as the Sabbath of the Old Testament, and that there is nothing in the New Testament setting aside the seventh-day Sabbath, and putting the first day of the week in its place.

Charles Spurgeon
Jesus did not come to change the law, but He came to explain it. (Mt 5:17-20) and that very fact shows that it remains, for there is no need to explain that which is abrogated. Assuredly there was no abrogation of law.

It was a wonderful exhibition of its’ far reaching sovereignty and of its searching character. Once more, that the Master did not come to alter the law is clear, because after having embodied it in His life He willingly gave Himself to bear its penalty, though He had never broken it, bearing the penalty for us, even as it is written, “ “Christ hath redeem us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.”

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6 KJV). But because the law asked only what it ought to ask…namely perfect obedience and exacted of the transgressor only what it ought to exact, namely, death, as the penalty for sin, death under divine wrath, therefore the Saviour went to the tree, and there bore our sins, and purged them once for all. (Charles Spurgeon, Perpetuity of the Law of God. pp 4-7)

Dwight L. Moody: Now man may cavil as much as they like about other parts of the Bible, but I have never met an honest man that found fault with the Ten Commandments. Infidels may mock the Lawgiver and reject Him who has delivered us from the curse of the law, but they can’t help admitting that the commandments are right…they are for all nations and will remain the commandments of God through the centuries…The people must be made to understand that the TC are still binding, and that there is a penalty attached to their violation….Jesus never condemned the law and the prophets, but He did condemn those who did not obey them (See Mat 5:17-20) Dwight L. Further Thought: We conclude by reflecting on Ephesians 6, where
we discover that we, the church, are the peace-waging army of God.

In Ephesians, Paul has portrayed the church as the body of Christ (Eph. 1:22, 23; Eph. 4:11–16), as God’s temple (Eph. 2:19–22), and as the bride/wife of Christ (Eph. 5:21–33). In Ephesians 6:10–20, Paul describes the church as God’s army and offers a vigorous call to arms. It is a passage that offers much benefit and risks misunderstanding.

We could misunderstand Paul’s words as a call to take up mili- tary weapons or to be combative in our relationships with others. Paul, though, has been emphasizing unity, edifying speech, and tenderheartedness (see especially Eph. 4:25–5:2). He describes God’s good news as “the gospel of peace” (Eph. 6:15). Through this vivid military metaphor, the church is not exhorted to wage war in the tradi- tional sense. Rather, we are to wage peace in the spiritual battle against evil. Paul steps onto the battlefield of the great controversy and calls us to enlist in God’s army.

We should do so with a realistic assessment of the enemy in view since it will never do to underestimate the forces arrayed against us. We don’t confront just human enemies but “spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12, NKJV), led by a wily general, the devil (Eph. 6:11). However, we need not be daunted by our enemies. God is present with us in the battle (Eph. 6:10) and has supplied us with the finest of weaponry, His own armor, the “armor of God” (Eph. 6:11; compare Isa. 59:15–17). He has placed at our disposal truth, righteous- ness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Spirit (Eph. 6:13–17). With God going before us and our being equipped from head to toe in the armor He has supplied, we cannot fail. Victory is assured.

Discussion Questions:

Ê Though we are not saved by our works, what does Paul mean when he writes that we were “created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10, NKJV)? What, then, is the purpose of our good works?

Ë Paul writes: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abun- dantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph. 3:20, NKJV). What power works in us, and how should this power be made manifest in our lives?

Praising God for Epilepsy
By andrew Mcchesney

Anna Rozenberga has struggled with epilepsy since she was a child in Riga, Latvia. It wasn’t only about seizures. Epilepsy affected her emotions and brain functions. It was hard for her to focus. She longed to be healed.

The summer after she graduated from high school, the 19-year-old teen went to a psychic who claimed she could heal her. When the psychic saw she could not help, she told Anna about another client who found healing through a pastor’s prayer. The psychic gave Anna the pastor’s phone number.

“He will tell you a lot about his church and God, but don’t listen to him,” she said. “Just take the healing and leave. The rest of what he says is a lie.” Anna called the pastor. In their phone conversation, she heard for the first
time about the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They agreed to meet. At their second meeting, the pastor prayed for Anna. But the epilepsy remained.

Anna liked the pastor and accepted an invitation to attend Bible studies. Later that summer, she attended a small group meeting at the church. Then she went to a Sabbath worship service. “You know what?” she told her mother afterward. “I think the church is good.”

So, Anna’s mother went with her to church. A few months later, Anna was attending church with both her mother and father. The next summer, Anna and her mother were baptized. A year later, her father was baptized. Then her grandmother and brother were baptized.

Over the years, many people have prayed for Anna. She has been anointed with oil. But the epilepsy has remained. Anna wondered why God had not healed her, but then it struck her. Like to the apostle Paul, who also prayed for relief, God was saying to her, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV).

Now 30, Anna sees epilepsy as a blessing. Since it is an illness she must deal with every day, she has learned she needs to trust God even more. Some Sabbath mornings she feels like staying in bed, but then she remembers she is scheduled to participate in church. So, she goes to church and trusts that God will pull her through.

Epilepsy also has helped her witness. The challenge has given her empa- thy for others. She doesn’t always mention her epilepsy when she first meets people, but she has found that being vulnerable about herself helps others open up and listen. “So my epi- lepsy has helped me spread the Word,” Anna says. “Iam thankful for the challenges with my health.”

This quarter’s Thirteenth Sabbath Offering will go to two proj- ects in the Trans-European Division, including one in Latvia. Thank you for planning a generous offering this Sabbath.

2 Blessed is the man that doeth this,
and the son of man that layeth hold on it;
that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it,
and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Isaiah 58:13-14 (KJV) 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy of the Lord, honourable;
and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways,
nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord;
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Medieval Scholastic philosophers and theologians, such as Saint Thomas Aquinas and Saint Bonaventure, held that all the commandments are a part of the natural law and are therefore knowable to all thinking people. They maintained that God revealed the commandments to Moses to remind humankind of its obligations, easily forgotten because of original sin.
Actually, these scholars were echoing a similar idea expressed by early Fathers of the Church, such as Tertullian and Augustine, that the commandments had already been engraved on the human heart before they were written on the tablets of stone.
Parallels to the Decalogue are found in the laws of other ancient peoples. In Egyptian religion, for example, the observance of certain precepts (prohibitions against theft, murder, and injustice) was necessary for entrance into the shrine of Osiris, god and judge of the dead. Biblical scholars feel, however, that the Ten Commandments differ from the moral codes of other ancient religious systems in their explicit monotheism, their doctrine of God's awesome majesty and boundless goodness, and their extension of moral obligation to the most intimate and hidden desires of the human heart.

In the New Testament, all the commandments are mentioned but never in a list of ten.

Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?
    A. Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her;—she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.

A Doctrinal Catechism by the Rev. Stephen Keenan, p. 174

“Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act,… (A quotation from a letter written in November, 1895, by Mr. H. F. Thomas, chancellor to Carkinal Gibbons, replying to an inquiry as to whether the Catholic Church claims to have changed the Sabbath.)
WHO CHANGED THE
SABBATH SATURDAY TO SUNDAY?
Roman Catholic: No such law in the Bible "Nowhere in the bible do we find that Jesus or the apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is, the Seventh day of the week, Saturday. Today, all Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the [Roman] church outside the Bible." Catholic Virginian, Oct. 3, 1947

"You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctified." James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of Our Fathers (1917 ed.), pp.72,73

"If protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day, that is Saturday. In keeping Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church." Albert Smith, chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the cardinal in a letter of Feb. 10, 1920.

Todays' Sabbath school lesson: Saturday:
God’s Mission to Us: Part 1
*September 30—October 6
Sabbath afternoon
Read for This Week’s Study: Gen. 3:9–15; Gen. 28:15; Exod. 29:43, 45; Matt. 1:18–23; John 1:14–18; John 3:16; John 14:1–3.
Memory Text: “Then the Lord God called Adam and said to him, ‘Where are you?’ ” (Genesis 3:9, NKJV).

Mission finds its origin and purpose only in God. This mission did not begin with Abram’s call (Gen. 12:1–4) or with the Exodus (Exod. 12:31–42). It did not begin even with Jesus Christ on the earth (Matt. 1:18–25) or with Paul’s missionary journeys (Acts 13:4–14:26). This mission began with God Himself, when He brought the universe into existence and later created humanity (Gen. 1:26, 27).

In the Scriptures, we see a God who intentionally reaches out and desires to be with His children. From the beginning, He establishes a relationship with Adam and Eve. Even after sin enters, He continues His mission, but now it is to reestablish His relationship with human- kind. In the end, God’s mission will be accomplished (Revelation 21, 22), which is why we should be motivated in the work of proclaiming the eternal gospel to the world (Rev. 14:6, 7).

The foundation of any mission endeavor, therefore, must be centered on a relationship with the Creator and with the proper understanding of His missionary nature and character. But before we understand the mission of God, it is essential to better understand the God of mission.

Good Morning. Today is the first workday of the week.

Daniel 7:13-28 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven,
and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion,
and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him:
his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that

which shall not be destroyed. 15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body,
and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near unto one of them that stood by,
and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful,
whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell;
even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came,

and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms,
and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them;
and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:

and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven,
shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and all dominions shall serve and obey him. 28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel,
my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and holydays?
By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church." Henry Tuberville, An Abridgment of the Christian Doctrine (1833 approbation), p.58 (Same statement in Manual of Christian Doctrine, ed. by Daniel Ferris [1916 ed.], p.67)

"The Catholic Church,... by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.
" The Catholic Mirror, official organ of Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893.

"Is Saturday the 7th day according to the Bible and the 10 Commandments?"
"I answer yes".

"Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the 7th day, Saturday, for Sunday, the 1st day?"
"I answer yes".

"Did Christ change the day?"
"I answer no!" Faithfully yours, "J. Cardinal Gibbons" Gibbons' autograph letter.

Some theologians have held that God likewise directly determined the Sunday as the day of worship in the NEW LAW, that he himself has explicitly substituted Sunday for the Sabbath.

But this theory is entirely abandoned. It is now commonly held that God simply gave His church the power to set aside whatever day or days she would deem suitable as holy days. The church chose Sunday, the first day of the week, and in the course of time added other days as holy days."
John Laux A Course in Religion for Catholic High Schools and Academies 1936, vol.1 p.51

What day is the Sabbath day?
Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemity from Saturday to Sunday."
Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1946 ed.), p.50. Geiermann received the "apostolic blessing" of Pope Pius X on his labors, January 25, 1910.

"The Catholic Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her Founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant, claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday.

In this matter the Seventh Day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant. The Catholic Universe Bulletin, Aug. 14, 1942, p.4

"The observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the [Catholic] church." Monsignor Louis Segur, Plain Talk About the Protestantism of Today (1868), p. 213

Exodus 20: 8-11,
(8) Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. (9) Six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work: (10) But the Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: (11) For in six days the Lord made the heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the Seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Colossians 2:8 warns us to:
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

The God Who Reaches Out to Us
God created us in His image and likeness. He gave us a perfect world, and His purpose was that we would live in perfect connection with Him, a relationship centered in His most precious attribute: love. But for love to be real, God also gave us another precious gift: free will—the freedom to choose which way to follow. Of course, God gave clear instructions to Adam and Eve about the danger and deadly consequences of disobedience (Gen. 2:16, 17). Satan, in turn, decep- tively persuaded Eve that she could eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but without any negative results. On the contrary, he claimed that they would “be like God, knowing good and evil” (Gen. 3:5, NKJV). Unfortunately, Eve chose to eat and gave the fruit to Adam, who made the same choice. The perfect creation, then, was stained by sin.

That moment changed God’s original plan and purpose for the newly created planet Earth. The mission of salvation, which had been designed “before the foundation of the world” (Eph. 1:4), had now to be implemented.
Read Genesis 3:9–15. What were God’s first words to Adam after he and Eve fell, and why is that statement so significant theologically even today?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
Of course, God knew exactly where they were. Dominated by fear, Adam and Eve were the ones who needed to see what was going on. But they also needed to be confronted so they could understand the dreadful consequences of their sin. Satan also needed to be defeated. For that, God then began to present His mission: the plan of redemp- tion (see Gen. 3:14, 15)—the only hope of “reconciling the world to Himself ” (2 Cor. 5:19, NKJV).

We need to pay close attention, however, to the fact that before the confrontation and the promise of reconciliation, God came looking for fallen humankind. In spite of the seemingly hopeless situation, God essentially addresses two issues in His question to Adam: our fallen state and His missionary nature. We are lost and in desperate need of salvation. He is the One who finds us with the determination to save and to be with us.

Throughout history, God continues to ask: “Where are you?” In your personal experience, what does this mean for you, and how have you answered Him?
Many wonder today why the Republican party does nothing to defeat the treasonous
schemes of the Democrats. It is because the pope’s Jesuits have thoroughly
infiltrated the Republican party as well as the Democratic party. Many wonder why

Good Morning. Today is the second workday of the week.

Yesterdays post from Dan 7 brought to mind a book written back in 1888 entitled "The Great Controversy between Christ and his angels and satan and his angels"
This work was written by Ellen G. White who was one of the founders of the Seventh Day Adventist church in or about the year 1865.

Today this book has been spread all over the world to warn people of coming events leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
These two paragraphs are taken from this book to make a point.

"Among the leading causes that had led to the separation of the true church from Rome was the hatred of the latter toward the Bible Sabbath.
As foretold by prophecy, the papal power cast down the truth to the ground. The law of God was trampled in the dust,
while the traditions and customs of men were exalted. The churches that were under the rule of the papacy were early
compelled to honor the Sunday as a holy day. Amid the prevailing error and superstition, many, even of the true
people of God, became so bewildered that while they observed the Sabbath, they refrained from labor
also on the Sunday. But this did not satisfy the papal leaders. They demanded not only that Sunday be hallowed,

but that the Sabbath be profaned; and they denounced in the strongest language those who dared to show it honor.
It was only by fleeing from the power of Rome that any could obey God's law in peace. (See Appendix.)

The Waldenses were among the first of the peoples of Europe to obtain a translation of the Holy Scriptures.
(See Appendix.) Hundreds of years before the Reformation they possessed the Bible in manuscript in their native tongue.
They had the truth unadulterated, and this rendered them the special objects of hatred and persecution.
They declared the Church of Rome to be the apostate Babylon of the Apocalypse, and at the peril of their lives
they stood up to resist her corruptions. While, under the pressure of long-continued persecution, some compromised their faith,
little by little yielding its distinctive principles, others held fast the truth. Through ages of darkness and apostasy
there were Waldenses who denied the supremacy of Rome, who rejected image worship as idolatry, and who kept the true Sabbath.
Under the fiercest tempests of opposition they maintained their faith. Though gashed by the Savoyard spear,
and scorched by the Romish fagot, they stood unflinchingly for God's word and His honor."...Great Controversy pg 65

THE POPE

Ecclesiastical literature is replete with exhibits of the arrogant, blasphemous claims of the papacy. Typical examples are the following extracts from a large encyclopedic work written by a Roman Catholic divine of the 18th century:

“The Pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God, and the vicar of God…..

“The Pope is crowned with a triple crown, as king of heaven and of earth and of the lower regions…..

“The Pope is as it were God on earth, sole sovereign of the faithful of Christ, chief of kings, having plenitude of power, to whom has been entrusted by the omnipotent God direction not only of the earthly but also of the heavenly kingdom…..

“The Pope is of so great authority and power that he can modify, explain, or interpret even divine laws…..

“The Pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man but of God, and he acts as vicegerent of God upon earth with most ample power of binding and loosing his sheep.

“Whatever the Lord God Himself, and the Redeemer, is said to do, that his vicar does, provided that he does nothing contrary to the faith” (translated from Lucius Ferraris, “Papa II,” Prompta Bibliotheca, Vol. VI pp. 25-29).

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As the years have hurried past the claims of Protestant leaders and even our own Congress have applauded and admired the pope to a high degree.

What does this say about Protestantism today? The events of the dark ages and the Reformation have slipped away into obscurity........

so who is the real "Protestant" movement today? Only the few denominations that "Remember" the seventh day sabbath.

Back in 1977 I discovered the Seventh Day Adventist church, and they are giving the clarion call to the world the Three Angels' messages to the world of Rev 14

Revelation 14:6-12 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth,
and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him;
for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city,
because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice,
If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his
mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God,
which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented
with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night,
who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The God Who Longs to Be With Us
Read Genesis 17:7, Genesis 26:3, and Genesis 28:15. What was the main focus of God’s promise to Abraham and his descendants in these verses?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
In the Old Testament narrative, God continues to act according to His missionary nature in order to fulfill His purposes. For instance, after the Flood the people of Babel decided to gather in one place to build a city and a tower that would reach to the heavens. God intervened, confusing their language with the goal to scatter them around the world (Gen. 11:1–9). He then enlarged His mission, calling Abram (who later became Abraham) to be a channel of His blessings to the whole world (Gen. 12:1–3). God’s promises to Abraham and his descendants were multifold, but one emerges above all. Several times God basically declared to them: “I will be [your] God.” “I will be with you.” “I am with you” (see Gen. 17:7, 8; Gen. 26:3, NKJV; Gen. 28:15, NKJV).

As history goes on, Joseph ends up in Egypt, but as an instrument of salvation to God’s people. In every step of Joseph’s experience—even in the most difficult moments of his life—the Bible affirms that “the Lord was with” him (Gen. 39:2, 21, 23). Generations later, in the fulfillment of His mission, God then sent Moses to Pharaoh as the deliverer of His people from Egyptian slavery. During Moses’ “commissioning,” God said to him: “I will certainly be with you” (Exod. 3:12, NKJV). Time after time, Yahweh confirmed His deep desire to be with His people.

Read Exodus 29:43, 45. What was one of the main purposes of the Old Testament sanctuary? God decided to be with His children in a different way. He confirmed to Moses His longing to dwell among the children of Israel in the building of the tabernacle and the establish- ment of a very intentional and purposeful system that would point to the ultimate instrument of His mission: Jesus Christ. “The sacrificial offerings, and the priesthood of the Jewish system, were instituted to represent the death and mediatorial work of Christ. All those ceremo- nies had no meaning, and no virtue, only as they related to Christ.” —Ellen G. White, Advent Review and Herald of the Sabbath, December 17, 1872.

What are ways that you experience God’s presence in your life?

Good Morning. Today is the third workday of the week.

I find these quotes to be interesting......

John Adams (1735-1826; 2nd President of the United States):
Shall we not have regular swarms of them here, in as many disguises as only a king of the gypsies can assume, dressed as painters, publishers, writers, and schoolmasters? If ever there was a body of men who merited eternal damnation on earth and in hell it is this Society of Loyola’s.ii

Eric Jon Phelps, Vatican Assassins 1st Edition (2001): 319:
[Courageous Mexican President Benito Pablo Juarez] was the most dreaded enemy of the Society of Jesus while hating the Temporal Power of the Papal Caesar in Rome. He...expelled 200 JESUIT priests...In 1872 he died at his desk, a victim of ‘the poison cup’.

Pope Clement XIV, who had abolished the Jesuit Order, said this upon his poisoning in 1774:
Alas, I knew they [i.e., the Jesuits] would poison me, but I did not expect to die in so slow and cruel a manner.iii

Hector Macpherson, The Jesuits in History (Edinburgh: Macniven and Wallace, 1914): 148:
Jesuitism is the power behind the Papal throne. "The presence of the Jesuits In any country, Romanist or Protestant," once remarked Lord

Palmerston, " Is likely to breed social disturbance." So hurtful was the Jesuit Order found to be that, up to 1860, it was expelled no fewer than seventy times from countries which has suffered from its machinations.

Edwin A. Sherman (former 32-degree Freemason), The Engineer Corps of Hell (1883) 92:
The assassins of St. Bartholomew, the inquisitors and the Jesuits are monsters produced by malignant imaginations; they are the natural allies of the spirit of darkness and of death; the religion of Christ, entirely to the contrary, is the sublime revelation of the life and of the light.

Pastor Robert Jefferson Breckinridge, Papism in the XIX Century, in the United States (D. Owen, 1841): 206:
The society of Jesus is the enemy of man. The whole human race should unite for its overthrow. Earth and heaven should rejoice together over its tomb.—For there is no alternative between its total extirpation, and the absolute corruption and degradation of mankind.

J. Wayne Laurens, The Crisis in America: or the Enemies of America Unmasked (G. D. Miller, 1855): 265-267:
They are Jesuits. This society of men, after exerting their tyranny for upwards of two hundred years, at length became so formidable to the world, threatening the entire subversion of all social order, that even the Pope, whose devoted subjects they are, and must be, by the vow of their society, was compelled to dissolve them [Pope Clement suppressed the Jesuit Order in 1773].

They had not been suppressed, however, for fifty years, before the waning influence of Popery and Despotism required their useful labors, to resist the light of Democratic liberty, and the Pope [Pius VII] simultaneously with the formation of the Holy Alliance, [1815] revived the order of the Jesuits in all their power…they are a secret society, a sort of Masonic order, with super added features of revolting odiousness, and a thousand times more dangerous.

They are not merely priests, or of one religious creed; they are merchants, and lawyers, and editors, and men of any profession, having no outward badge by which to be recognized; they are about in all your society. They can assume any character, that of angels of light, or ministers of darkness, to accomplish their one great end…

They are all educated men, prepared and sworn to start at any moment, and in any direction, and for any service, commanded by the general of their order, bound to no family, community, or country, by the ordinary ties which bind men; and sold for life to the cause of the Roman Pontiff.iv

Luigi Desanctis (Official Censor of the Inquisition; 1852):
All these things cause the Father-General [of the Jesuits] to be feared by the Pope and sovereigns… A sovereign who is not their friend will sooner or later experience their vengeance.v

J. E. C. Shepherd (Canadian historian), The Babington Plot: Jesuit Intrigue in Elizabethan England (Toronto, Canada: Wittenburg Publications, 1987): 9:
The term ‘Jesuit’ has become synonymous with terms like deceit, chicanery, infiltration, intrigue, subversion…many organized Jesuits have been justly described as treacherous, traitorous workers, seducing many in the service of the Roman Pontiff away from national allegiance…
Ellen White, The Great Controversy (Pacific Press Publishing, 1911): 234-235:
Throughout Christendom, Protestantism was menaced by formidable foes. The first triumphs of the Reformation past, Rome summoned new forces, hoping to accomplish its destruction. At this time the order of the Jesuits was created, the most cruel, unscrupulous, and powerful of all the champions of popery. Cut off from earthly ties and human interests, dead to the claims of natural affection, reason and conscience wholly silenced, they knew no rule, no tie, but that of their order, and no duty but to extend its power. The gospel of Christ had enabled its adherents to meet danger and endure suffering, undismayed by cold, hunger, toil, and poverty, to uphold the banner of truth in face of the rack, the dungeon, and the stake.

To combat these forces, Jesuitism inspired its followers with a fanaticism that enabled them to endure like dangers, and to oppose to the power of truth all the weapons of deception.

There was no crime too great for them to commit, no deception too base for them to practice, no disguise too difficult for them to assume. Vowed to perpetual poverty and humility, it was their studied aim to secure wealth and power, to be devoted to the overthrow of Protestantism, and the re-establishment of the papal supremacy.

When appearing as members of their order, they wore a garb of sanctity, visiting prisons and hospitals, ministering to the sick and the poor, professing to have renounced the world, and bearing the sacred name of Jesus, who went about doing good.

But under this blameless exterior the most criminal and deadly purposes were often concealed.

It was a fundamental principle of the order that the end justifies the means. By this code, lying, theft, perjury, assassination, were not only pardonable but commendable, when they served the interests of the church. Under various disguises the Jesuits worked their way into offices of state, climbing up to be the counselors of kings, and shaping the policy of nations. They became servants to act as spies upon their masters. They established colleges for the sons of princes and nobles, and schools for the common people; and the children of Protestant parents were drawn into an observance of popish rites.

All the outward pomp and display of the Romish worship was brought to bear to confuse the mind and dazzle and captivate the imagination, and thus the liberty for which the fathers had toiled and bled was betrayed by the sons. The Jesuits rapidly spread themselves over Europe, and wherever they went, there followed a revival of popery.

The following quotes help us to see the impact the Society of Jesus has had on the planet since its inception:
Jesuit Giulio Cesare Cordara:

...nearly all the Kings and Sovereigns of Europe had only Jesuits as directors of their consciences, so that the whole of Europe appeared to be governed by Jesuits only.vi

John Daniel, The Grand Design Exposed (CHJ Publishing, 1999): 77-78:
The Thirty Years’ War, 1618-1648, was a series of conflicts that became the last great struggle of religious wars in Europe. It was fought almost exclusively on German soil…but before the war ended, it involved most of the nations of Europe.  The underlying cause of the war was the deep-seated hostility between the German Protestants and German Catholics – with the Jesuits and Cardinal Richelieu, who was the real ruler of France, fanning the fires to accomplish their end.

...The sixth and last event to be considered is the barbarous Irish Massacre, with its 23 October 1641 launching date – the date that also celebrates the Catholic feast of Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits.

…Again the plot is instigated by the Jesuits, priests, and friars, who excite the ignorant Irish Catholic people to a frenzy to commit the most unheard of cruelties.  In far away France,

Cardinal Richelieu, the French minister, had promised the [Irish Catholic] conspirators a considerable supply of men and money.  In one stroke, Catholics rose up against their peaceful and unsuspecting Protestant neighbors, and spared no age, no sex, nor condition.  Led on and declared by their fanatical priestly leaders, that no Protestant should be suffered to live any longer among them, adding that it was no more sin to kill a Protestant than to kill a dog, and that the relieving or protecting them was a crime of the most unpardonable nature.

The onslaught raged on, and when it had run its course, one hundred and fifty thousand Protestants lay mutilated, butchered, and dead.

…For the unbiased researcher, history reeks of the butchery of Romanism, where whole cities and populations were unmercifully wiped out, just because they worshipped God in a manner that was different from Roman Catholicism.

Darryl Eberhart, "The Jesuit order—The Society of Jesus," Tackling the Tough Topics Newsletter:
The Jesuit Order – a.k.a. the Society of Jesus, the Order of Jesus, the Sons of Loyola, and “the Company” (it was once called “the Company of Jesus”) – was founded in 1534 by Ignatius Loyola. It was officially recognized as a Roman Catholic religious order by Pope Paul III in 1540. Jesuits are famous as educators, and as “father-confessors” to emperors, kings (and their mistresses), queens, princes, princesses, high-ranking military officers, and many of the powerful and wealthy elite of the world. Jesuits are also infamous as seducers of women in the confessional, murderers of kings, makers of sedition, organizers of coup d’états, infiltrators of Protestant denominations, instigators of massacres, and fomenters of wars and revolutions. Numerous books have been written about the Jesuit Order. Some of these books contend that many of the men at the higher levels of the Jesuit Order have been – and are – very evil men!

Theodor Griesinger, Andrew James Scott (trans.), The Jesuits (G.P. Putnam's sons, 1883): 256:
...the whole frightful responsibility for this terrible thirty years' war must rest upon the Emperor Ferdinand II., and his teachers, rulers, and bosom friends, the sons of Loyola.

Hector Macpherson, The Jesuits in History (Edinburgh: Macniven and Wallace, 1914): 126:
They [i.e., the Jesuits] have so constantly mixed themselves up in court and state intrigues that they must, in justice, be reproached with striving after world dominion. They cost kings their lives, not on the scaffold, but by assassination, and equally hurtful as the society of Illuminati; they were the foremost among the crowd, at all events, who applauded the murder scenes in Paris.

F. Tupper Saussy, Rulers of Evil (HarperCollins, 2001): xviii:

The Roman Inquisition…had been administered since 1542 by the Jesuits.
J. E. C. Shepherd (Canadian historian), The Babington Plot: Jesuit Intrigue in Elizabethan England (Toronto, Canada: Wittenburg Publications): 12:
Between 1555 and 1931 the Society of Jesus  was expelled from at least 83 countries, city states and cities, for engaging in political intrigue and subversion plots against the welfare of the State, according to the records of a Jesuit priest of repute…Practically every instance of expulsion was for political intrigue, political infiltration, political subversion, and inciting to political insurrection.
Military and Political Nature

Rather than a passive monasticism, the Jesuit Order has pursued military and political power, and used its army of religious leaders to overturn civilizations and disrupt democracies:
John Daniel, The Grand Design Exposed (CHJ Publishing, 1999): 64:

The Church to rule the world; the Pope to rule the Church; the Jesuits to rule the Pope – such was and is the program of the Order of Jesus.
Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821; emperor of the French):

The Jesuits are a MILITARY organization, not a religious order.  Their chief is a general of an army, not the mere father abbot of a monastery.  And the aim of this organization is power—power in its most despotic exercise —absolute power, universal power, power to control the world by the volition of a single man [i.e., the Superior General of the Jesuits].  Jesuitism is the most absolute of despotisms—and at the same time the greatest and most enormous of abuses…vii

U.S. Army Brigadier General Thomas M. Harris, Rome's Responsibility for the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln (Pittsburgh, PA: Williams Publishing, 1897): 34:
...the favorite policy of the Jesuits, that of assassination.

Former American Navy secretary R. W. Thompson:
[The Jesuits] are the deadly enemies of civil and religious liberty.viii

Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoyevsky (1821-1881), in his book The Brothers Karamazov:
The Jesuits…are simply the Romish army for the earthly sovereignty of the world in the future, with the Pontiff of Rome for emperor…that’s their ideal…It is simple lust of power, of filthy earthly gain, of domination – something like a universal serfdom with [the Jesuits] as masters – that’s all they stand for. They don’t even believe in God perhaps.ix

Chief of the Nazi Sicherheitdienst Walter Shellenberg:
The SS had been organized by Heinrich Himmler according to the principles of the Jesuit Order. The rules of service and spiritual exercises prescribed by Ignatius de Loyola constituted a model which Heinrich Himmler strove carefully to copy. Absolute obedience was the supreme rule; every order had to be executed without comment.x

Former Nun of Kenmare Marie Frances Cusack (1830-1899), Black Pope a History of the Jesuits (London: Marshall, Russell and Co., 1896): 76:
The Jesuits are the only religious order in the Church of Rome—and these orders are very numerous—which has lain under the ban of the [‘White’] Pope, or which has been expelled from any country because of its interference in politics.  Hence we may expect to find that to obtain political power forms a main feature in the plans of the Society [of Jesus].

Rick Martin, "The 'Black' Pope Count Hans Kolvenbach—The Jesuit's General," SPECTRUM (May, 2000):
They're the ones in the government. They're the ones behind professional sports. The owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers (in 2000) is a Knight of Malta. The owner of the Detroit Lions (in 2000) is a Knight of Malta. All your top owners of these ball clubs, for the most part, are Knights of Malta, getting the people whooped up in this hoopla over games and sports, while they're busy creating a tyranny.

American physician and historian Emanuel M. Josephson, The Federal Reserve Conspiracy and Rockefellers (Chedney Press, 1968): 4-5:
[Jesuit-trained Illuminist Adam] Weishaupt and his fellow Jesuits cut off the income to the Vatican by launching and leading the French Revolution [1789-1799]; by directing Napoleon’s conquest of Catholic Europe; [and] …by eventually having Napoleon throw Pope Pius VII in jail at Avignon until he agreed, as the price for his release, to reestablish the Jesuit Order.  This Jesuit war on the Vatican was terminated by the Congress of Vienna and by the secret, 1822 Treaty of Verona.

What power has claimed authority to change God's law?
The Papacy in Rome.
"The Pope is of so great authority and power that he can modify, explain, or interpret even Divine Laws...The Pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man, but of God, and he acts as vicegerent of God upon earth." Translated from Lucius Ferraris, Prompta Bibliotheca (Ready Library), "Papa", art. 2.

What part of the law of God has the papacy thought to change?
The Fourth Commandment.
"Catholics alledge the change of the Sabbath into the Lord's day, contrary, as it seemeth, to the Decalogue; and they have no example more in their mouth than the change of the Sabbath. They will needs have to be very great, because it hath dispensed with a precept of the Decalogue." The Augsburg Confession (Lutheran), part 2, art. 7, in Philip Schaff, The Creeds of Christendom (Harper), vol. 3, p. 64.

"It [the Roman Catholic Church] reversed the Fourth Commandment by doing away with the Sabbath of God's word and instituting Sunday as a holiday." N. Summerbell, History of the Christian Church (1873), p. 415.

The God Who Became One With Us
The Old Testament presents how the Creator began to implement a plan through a people who were supposed to represent His nature and purpose to the world. Everything God did was according to His missionary strategy. Through the prophet Isaiah, God said: “ ‘I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the begin- ning, . . . saying, “My purpose will be established, and I will accom- plish all My good pleasure” ’ ” (Isa. 46:9, 10, NASB). In the New Testament, however, God’s desire to be with humankind takes a new dimension. Through Christ’s incarnation, what was only a promise in the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:15) becomes a reality.
Read the narrative of the announcement of Jesus’ birth in Matthew 1:18–23. What essential things does this account tell us about God?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
“God with us.” Immanuel. God had dwelt among His people within the sanctuary, and now He dwelt with them in the physical person of Jesus of Nazareth. Indeed, with the birth of Jesus, God presented in concrete ways His continuous desire to be with us in nature and mis- sion: the Son of God was fully human and fully divine, and He is the One who affirmed, “ ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’ ” (John 14:6, NKJV).
Read John 1:14–18. What can you learn from Christ’s incarnation about God’s mission to us?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
God moved forward with His mission and then, through Jesus Christ, was present in the flesh among His children. The “one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14, NIV), fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies and, in accordance with the divine plan, became one with us, God in human flesh. The God of mis- sion was continuing to accomplish His purpose.

Think what it means that God’s love for us is so great that He would come to us in our own humanity. How should we respond to this love, especially in terms of mission to others?

"And all the world wondered after the beast." Rev 13:3 last part.

Good Morning. Today is the fourth workday of the week.....the middle the week.....mitwoch.

So here is the beginning of the Muslims,,,,,,,I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY GOD DID THIS!

THE MUSLIMS HAVE BEEN A PLAGUE UPON ALL THE EARTH:

Genesis 16:11-16 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son,
and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. 12 And he will be a wild man;
his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence
of all his brethren.
13 And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said,
Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? 14 Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold,
it is between Kadesh and Bered. 15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name,
which Hagar bare, Ishmael. 16 And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15, 2008.
It doesn't take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe - and possibly to the rest of the world.

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ
By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez

I walked down the street in Barcelona , and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz.

We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims.  In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, and talent.

We destroyed the Chosen People, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world.

These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism, and lack of tolerance, crime, and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to them.
These events are actual events from history. They really happened! Do you remember?

1. 1968, Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by:
A Muslim male extremist between the ages of 17 and 40

2. In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and massacred by:
Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40

14. And now we can add: In 2009, 31 people wounded and 13 American Soldiers murdered on base at Fort Hood by a Major who was known as...    You guessed it -
A Muslim male extremist between the age of 17 and 40.

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling. Do you?

So, to ensure we Americans/Canadians never offend anyone, particularly fanatic's intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.

They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Nancy Pelosis, Gloria Aldreds, and other dunder-headed attorneys, along with Federal Justices who want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves - if they have any such sense.

We can not allow the socialist transformation being brought on by the current administration to continue.

Look at what it has done to Europe.

We all must stand together before it's too late and everything America stands for is lost.

The Jews are NOT promoting the brain-washing of children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non-Muslims. The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew who has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew who protests by killing people.

The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.

Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.

Muslims must ask what they can do for humankind before they demand that humankind respects them.

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel 's part, the following two sentences really say it all:

"If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel ." Benjamin Netanyahu

General Eisenhower Warned Us.
It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps, he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.
He did this because he said in words to this effect:
"Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened."

Recently the UK debated whether to remove 'The Holocaust' from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population, which claims it never, occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that s gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.
This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the, 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on, and humiliated while the German people looked the other way.
Now more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be a myth, it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center 'NEVER HAPPENED,' because it offends some Muslim in the United States?
Do not just delete this message. It will take only a minute to pass this along."

The God Who Continues to Be With Us
Jesus’ life and ministry were God’s ultimate revelation. In about three years God was able to reveal more about who He was and what His mission was all about than in all He had done through any other method in previous generations. Christ was the perfect “image of the invisible God,” the One in whom “all the fullness should dwell, . . . having made peace through the blood of His cross” (Col. 1:15, 19, 20, NKJV). In Christ, the missionary nature of God was completely made known. Jesus Himself revealed His mission, saying, “ ‘the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost’ ” (Luke 19:10, NKJV).

Read and carefully reflect on John 3:16. How do you see God’s love and mission interacting here?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
Later in His ministry, when Jesus approached His last week of life, humanity’s final destiny was at stake. The events that took place dur- ing those days connected the expectation from the past with hope for the future. During the Passover celebration—which pointed to freedom from the Egyptian oppression—Jesus Christ, the incarnated God, gave up His life to deliver us from the bondage of sin. The apostle Paul wrote, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Cor. 5:21, NIV).

Read Matthew 28:18–20.What is the promise we can find in the Great Commission? How does it bring assurance for us as we get involved in God’s mission?
________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________
Christ’s death was part of the reconciliation process, not the end of it. Through His resurrection, Jesus conquered death and received “ ‘all authority . . . in heaven and on earth’ ” (Matt. 28:18, NKJV). Based on this reality, He then commissioned all of His followers to make disciples around the world, with an awesome promise: “ ‘I am with you always, even to the end of the age’ ” (Matt. 28:20, NKJV; emphasis supplied).

In what ways have you seen Jesus’ promise to be “with you always” being fulfilled in your own life as you are engaged in mission?

Good Morning. Today is the fifth workday of the week....come sundown begins the preparation.
Section 11

Life Only In Christ

Chapter 113.

The Two Resurrections

1. WHAT comes to all men as the result of the fall?
"In Adam all die." 1 Cor. 15:22. See also Rom. 5:12.

2. Where do all go at death?
"All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again." Eccl. 3:20.

3. In what condition is man while in the grave? "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;
for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge. nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Eccl. 9:10.

NOTE.-That is, man, when dead, has no use of the powers of mind or body. He cannot, therefore, while in the grave, praise God, or even think of Him (Ps. 6:5); for in the day he dies his thoughts perish. Ps. 146:2-4. See preceding reading.

4. What has been promised in order that man may be redeemed from this condition?
"I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction." Hosea 13:14.

5. Through whom will come this redemption from the grave?
"For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." 1 Cor. 15:21,22.

Page 515

6. What would have been the result to the dead had not Christ procured their release from the grave?
"For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: and if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished." Verses 16-18.

7. Why did God give His only begotten Son to the world?
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.

8. What did the Sadducees in Christ's time deny?
"Then came to Him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection." Luke 20:27.

9. How did Christ, from the Old Testament Scriptures, prove the resurrection?
"Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the
bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For He is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto Him." Verses 37,38.

NOTE.-That is, in view of the resurrection- of the fact that there is to be a resurrection- all live unto God. In His purpose, all are alive. It is in this sense that Paul speaks of God as the one "who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were." Rom. 4:17.

10. Under what illustration from nature are the resurrection and the final salvation of the righteous taught?
"That which thou sowest is not quickened, ~xcept it die." 1 Cor. 15:36. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." John 12:24.

NOTES.-The seed dies to spring forth into new life. In this we are taught the lesson of the resurrection. All who love God will spring forth to life, and live again through endless ages in the earth made new.
The Open Grave.- The truth of the resurrection has been forcibly illustrated by the following incident: In the city of Hanover, Germany, is a grave known as "The open grave." It is that of a woman, an infidel German princess, who died over one hundred years ago, and who, on her death-bed, gave orders that her grave should be covered with a great marble slab, weighing perhaps a ton, surmounting solid blocks of stone firmly bound together with clasps of iron, with this inscription placed on the lowermost stone of the tomb: "This grave purchased for eternity, must never be opened." But no human device can thwart the plans of God, or hinder the workings of life from Him. It happened, providentially no doubt, that a birch-tree seed was buried with the princess. Soon it began to sprout. Its tiny shoot, soft and pliable at first, found its way up through the ponderous stones of the massive masonry. Slowly and imperceptibly, but with irresistible power, it grew, until at last it burst the bands of iron asunder, and opened this never-to-be-opened grave, leaving not a single stone in its original position. What a rebuke to infidelity! and what a mute but striking promise that, erelong, in God's own time, all graves shall be opened, and the sleeping ones awake from their dusty beds!

Page 517

11. Where are the dead when they hear the voice of Christ calling them to life?
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth." John 5:28,29.

12. How many distinct classes will have a resurrection?
"There shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust." Acts 24:15.

13. By what terms did Christ refer to the two resurrections?
"All that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." John 5:28,29.

14. When will the resurrection of the just occur?
"For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first." 1 Thess. 4:16. See also 1 Cor. 15:23.

15. When are the righteous to be recompensed?
"For thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just." Luke 14:14.

16. In what condition did David expect to rise?
"As far me, I will behold Thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness." Ps. 17:15.

17. What great contrast will be seen between the present body and the one to be put on in the resurrection?
"So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in
corruption; it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body." 1 Cor. 15:42-44.

Page 518

18. After whose body will these resurrected ones be fashioned?
"We look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body." Phil. 3:20,21.

19. What will the righteous do upon rising from the grave?
"Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead." Isa. 26:19.

20. In what words will their triumph over death and the grave be expressed? ,
"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" 1 Cor. 15:55.

21. How long will they live?
"Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection." Luke 20:36.

22. How long do the other class wait after the first resurection before they are raised?
"And they [the righteous] lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished." Rev. 20:4,5.

23. What is to be their fate?
"And fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them." Verse 9.

24. Who are to share this fate?
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Rev. 21:8.

25. What is the last enemy to be destroyed?
"The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." 1 Cor. 15:26. See Rev. 20:13,14.

26. How will the righteous ever afterward appear?
"Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father, Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." Matt. 13:43.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"Have you not any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?"
"Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the Seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority" Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed. p. 174

The God Who Will Come Back for Us
Read John 14:1–3. In what ways is it connected with the end-time mes-
sage found in the Scriptures?

During His earthly ministry, one of Christ’s most precious promises,
the blessed hope, reflects once again the Creator’s desire to be with us for
eternity. Jesus affirmed, “ ‘I will come back and take you to be with me
that you also may be where I am’ ” (John 14:3, NIV; emphasis added).
According to the apostle John, the promise will finally become
reality. “And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the
tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they
shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God”
(Rev. 21:3, NKJV).

“The work of redemption will be complete. In the place where sin
abounded, God’s grace much more abounds. The earth itself, the very
field that Satan claims as his, is to be not only ransomed but exalted. . . .
Here, where the Son of God tabernacled in humanity; where the King of
glory lived and suffered and died,—here, when He shall make all things
new, the tabernacle of God shall be with men. . . . And through endless
ages as the redeemed walk in the light of the Lord, they will praise Him
for His unspeakable Gift,—Immanuel, ‘God with us.’ ”—Ellen G. White,
The Desire of Ages, p. 26.

Here we find the most beautiful picture of Redemption. The God of
mission will finally fulfill His desire to be with His children eternally.
What a tremendous privilege to be part of this reality!
Weekly Challenges. Throughout this quarter you will be invited
to engage intentionally in God’s mission. This will be an opportunity
to see and experience the God of mission at work in your life. Take
advantage of this moment for personal reflection and be ready to share
what you have learned with your class on a weekly basis. Additionally,
the Challenge Up will encourage you to increase your involvement in
God’s mission.

Challenge: Pray every day of the coming week for God to open
your heart to be part of His mission.
Challenge Up: Learn the name of someone in your life you don’t
already know—a neighbor, coworker, shopkeeper, bus driver,
janitor, etc. Begin praying for him or her each day.

2 Blessed is the man that doeth this,
and the son of man that layeth hold on it;
that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it,
and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Isaiah 58:13-14 (KJV) 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy of the Lord, honourable;
and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways,
nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord;
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

"And on the Sabbath we went out of the city by a riverside, wh
ere prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither." Acts 16:13.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Todays Sabbath School lesson: Friday...October 6
Further Thought: “The plan for our redemption was not an after-
thought, a plan formulated after the fall of Adam. It was a revelation of ‘the
mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal.’ Romans
16:25, R. V. . . .

It was an unfolding of the principles that from eternal ages
have been the foundation of God’s throne. From the beginning, God and
Christ knew of the apostasy of Satan, and of the fall of man through the
deceptive power of the apostate.

God did not ordain that sin should exist, but
He foresaw its existence, and made provision to meet the terrible emergency.

So great was His love for the world, that He covenanted to give His only-
begotten Son, ‘that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.’ John 3:16.”—Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 22.
“Christ did not tell His disciples that their work would be easy. . . . But
they would not be left to fight alone. He assured them that He would be
with them; and that if they would go forth in faith, they should move under
the shield of Omnipotence. . . .

So long as they obeyed His word, and
worked in connection with Him, they could not fail. Go to all nations, He
bade them. Go to the farthest part of the habitable globe and be assured
that My presence will be with you even there. Labor in faith and confi-
dence; for the time will never come when I will forsake you. I will be
with you always, helping you to perform your duty, guiding, comforting,
sanctifying, sustaining you, giving you success in speaking words that shall
draw the attention of others to heaven.”—Ellen G. White, The Acts of the
Apostles, p. 29.

Discussion Questions:

Ê Think about what it means that God’s first words to fallen
humanity were not “What have you done?” Or “Why have you dis-
obeyed Me?” Instead the first words were, “Where are you?” What
comfort should this truth give us regarding God’s intention for us
and our loved ones?

Ë Think about what it means that God Himself, in the person of
Jesus, came to this world in order to save us. Christ on the cross was
the ultimate manifestation of God as a God of mission. What does
this tell us about His character?

Ì The mission belongs to God. Therefore, He will equip and
empower people for the task. In light of this reality, when you look
at the challenges of worldwide evangelization, how can you deal
with feelings and attitudes of inadequacy or fear?

Two Boys, Two Prayers: Part 1
By Andrew McChesney

Father was excited when he saw a new sign reading “Adventist Maranatha
School” on a street in Conakry, capital of the West African country of Guinea.

He wanted his two sons to go to a Christian school, and this might be their
chance. He never dreamed that the school would change his life.

Father entered the fenced compound of the newly opened school and
found a teacher. “Is this a Christian school?” he asked.

“Yes,” she replied. “This is a Seventh-day Adventist school.”
Father said his sons were studying elsewhere, and he promised to transfer
them to this school. “I want them to have a Christian education,” he said.

Soon the two boys, 11-year-old Junior and 8-year-old Emile (pictured),
were studying at the Adventist school. Among their subjects was the Bible,
and the boys memorized verses that Father, to his surprise, had never heard.

He was even more surprised when the boys declared that the teachers wor-
shiped in church on Saturdays. The boys asked if they could go to a Saturday
program in a church located on the same compound as the school. Father
thought it was an extracurricular program and agreed.

The boys went to church every Sabbath for two years. Sometimes, school-
teachers visited Father and invited him to come to church. “Would you like
to come to our church on Sabbath?” they asked.

Father always refused. “No, I have to work on Saturday,” he said. “I’m
busy.”

One Sabbath, the church pastor, Matthew, told the church members,
“Today, we will visit the father of Junior and Emile.”

A group of 15 church members, accompanied by a delighted Junior and
Emile, arrived at the house. “Can we pray together?” the pastor asked Father.

When Father agreed, the pastor asked if he had any requests. He did.
Months earlier, Father, who led a nongovernmental organization, had applied
to a Guinean government ministry for a grant, and he was still waiting for a
response. The pastor prayed about the grant.

Three days later, on Tuesday, the ministry responded. The grant was
approved. Father immediately went to the school and told the teachers about
the remarkable answer to prayer. He thanked God
for the grant. But the answer to prayer did not
convince him to go to church on Sabbath.

Thank you for your Thirteenth Sabbath Offering three
years ago that helped the Adventist Maranatha School
expand in Conakry, Guinea, in the West-Central Africa
Division (WAD). Your Thirteenth Sabbath Offering this
quarter will again help spread the gospel in WAD.

Read the stories' conclusion next week.

Good Morning. Today is the holy sabbath day.....the Lords' Day.

2 Blessed is the man that doeth this,
and the son of man that layeth hold on it;
that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it,
and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Isaiah 58:13-14 (KJV) 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,
from doing thy pleasure on my holy day;
and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy of the Lord, honourable;
and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways,
nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord;
and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth,
and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

October 7-13God’s Mission to Us: Part 2
Sabbath Afternoon
Read for This Week’s Study: John 20:21, 22; Matt. 28:16–
20; Rev. 14:6, 7; Deut. 7:6, 11, 12; Rev. 7:9, 10.

Memory Text: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19, NKJV).

The theme, that of God as a God of mission, runs throughout
Scripture. It is the connecting thread of human history, and it
demonstrates God’s purpose for His creation. Furthermore, it
consolidates divine revelation with a main focus: the restoration of God’s
image in His fallen children (compare with Col. 3:9, 10; 1 John 3:2).

The mission of God also functions as the background through which
we should see and understand God’s Word to us. When we read the
Bible, we can identify a God who is intentionally reaching out to us. In
spite of the separation caused by sin (Isa. 59:2), through His mission
God continues to restore the broken relationship with humanity until
the glorious moment when He will “make all things new” (Rev. 21:5,
NKJV).

In the meanwhile, God has chosen to manifest Himself to us in such
a way that we can understand His nature and purpose, and above all, we
can have a real and lasting relationship with Him. In other words, we
not only come to know Him but also share, with others, our experience
with Him and His saving love.

In the Scriptures, then, God gives us the basic elements of what His
mission is all about.

Good Morning. Today is the first workday of the week.......or if you rather tis the RCC and "Protestant".....self made "holy" day......

mean crazy people in this world.......

Matthew 24:1-51 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple:
and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you,
There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying,

Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled:
for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted,
and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;
and then shall the end come. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation,
spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understandhappy
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time,
no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:

but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you,
Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,
and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth:
behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east,
and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is,
there will the eagles be gathered together. 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened,

and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect
from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree;
When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven,
but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill;
the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come,
he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready:
for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant,
whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him,
and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Bishop Seymour, Why We Keep Sunday .
We have made the change from the seventh day to the first day, from Saturday to Sunday, on the authority of the one holy Catholic Church."

Baptist
Dr.

The Triune God: The Origin of Mission
The mission of God in Scripture has Jesus at the front and center as
the only way to salvation. Christ Himself declared: “ ‘I am the way, the
truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’ ”

(John 14:6, NKJV). But Jesus also helps us understand the centrality of
the triune God to His mission.

Everything Christ did was either for or from His heavenly Father (see
John 4:34, John 5:30, John 12:45). However, we must always remem-
ber that Jesus’ mission did not begin when He came into the world. He
had received it from the Father even before the creation of our world
(compare with Eph. 1:4, 1 Pet. 1:20).

Therefore, God planned His outreach to humanity even before He
laid the foundations of our planet, and He intentionally entered into
humanity’s history in order to accomplish this purpose.

The Son created the world (John 1:3), and at “the fullness of the
time” (Gal. 4:4, NKJV), God demonstrated His love by sending the Son
here (John 3:16, 17). The Son came, died on the cross, and conquered
death. Then, sent from the Father, the Spirit came here (John 14:26,
John 16:7), convicts the world (John 16:8–11), and today continues the
mission of the Father and the Son by empowering and by sending God’s
people out for mission (John 14:26; John 16:13, 14).

Read John 20:21, 22. How should the understanding that mission finds
its origin in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit shape our mission?
_

________________________________________________________
Even though the word “trinity” is not found in the Bible, mission-
focused trinitarian evidences are numerous. For instance, after His
resurrection, Christ appeared to His disciples and promised them: “ ‘I
am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city
until you have been clothed with power from on high’ ” (Luke 24:49,
NIV; emphasis added). Here we find the reality of the Godhead’s mis-
sion in one sentence: the Father’s promise, the Son’s assurance of the
fulfillment of the promise, and the promise itself, the coming of the
Holy Spirit (see also Luke 3:16; Acts 1:4, 5, 8).

We learn from this that the mission is not ours. It belongs to the tri-
une God. As such, it will not fail.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all involved in the work of saving
souls. Why should you find this thought so comforting?

Good Morning. Today is the second workday of the week.
Section 12

Christian Growth and Experience

Chapter 120.

Walking in the Light

1. HOW important is it that we walk in the light when it comes to us?
"Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth." John 12:35.

NOTE.-It is important to settle a plain question of duty at once, and not delay obedience under the excuse of waiting for more light. To do as did Balaam- ask God again concerning that which He has plainly and expressly spoken- is dangerous. Nor should we, like the unbelieving Jews, seek a sign from heaven to convince us that we ought to obey the written Word. Has God spoken? Is it His word? Then obey. Do not insult Heaven with the question whether it is right to obey. If one gets an answer to such prayers, it will more than likely be a permission to have one's own chosen way of continuing in disobedience, the end of which is death. See 1 Kings 22:1-36; Eze. 14:1-5.

2. Upon what condition are we promised cleansing from sin?
"But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin." 1 John 1:7.

3. How long may the just expect increased light to shine upon their pathway?
"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." Prov. 4:18.

4. For whom is light sown?
"Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart." Ps. 97:11.

NOTE.-The more earnestly one desires to know the will of God while living up to all the light he has, the more light and truth from God will shine upon his pathway. The fact that one has the evidence of his acceptance with God, is no proof that he has all the light there is for him. If light is sown for the righteous, such are the very ones who may expect advanced light to come to them, and to see new duties presented to them from a study of the Word of God.

Page 548

5. Who was told by an angel of God that his ways pleased the Lord?
"He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God." Acts 10:3,4.

6. Because Cornelius's ways pleased the Lord, was this evidence that he had nothing more to learn or do?
"And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: he lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the seaside: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do." Verses 5,6.

NOTE.-The reason why the Lord favored Cornelius with a visit from one of His angels, was not because Cornelius knew the way of salvation perfectly, but because the Lord saw in him a sincere desire for more light, and a willing mind to comply with every known requirement. That spirit was pleasing to God, and He therefore opened the way for Cornelius to learn the whole truth from Peter, that he might be saved. God never changes. He does the same now with sincere, devoted persons. All may now receive advanced light, if, like Cornelius, they seek it, and are willing to walk in it when it comes to them. If it is neglected, they are guilty before God, and will be left to the buffetings of the enemy.

7. What will become of the light which one has if he fails to walk in it?
"The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness." Luke 11:34,35.

8. Why did Christ say that the sin of those who rejected Him remained?
"Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth." John 9:41. See also John 15:22.

NOTE.-With advanced light comes increased responsibility. Duty is always in proportion to one's light and privileges. Present truth always brings with It present duty. See reading on "Present Truth," chapter 30. of this book.

Page 549

9. Why are those condemned that do not come to the light?
"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." John 3:19.

10. If one is really seeking for truth, what will he do?
"But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." Verse 21.

11. What will those who reject light and truth, finally be led to believe?
"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." 2 Thess. 2:11,12.

NOTE.-The opposite of light is darkness; the opposite of truth is a lie. For those who reject light and truth, only darkness and error remain. God is sometimes in the Scriptures represented as sending that which he permits to come. See Ps. 81:12; 1 Kings 22:20-23; Rom. 1:21-28.

12. Who is the light of the world?
"I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 8:12.

13. How are we to walk in Christ?
"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him." Col. 2:6.

14. What has God given to guide our feet aright in the path of truth and duty?
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Ps. 119:105. See Prov. 6:23.

15. What does the entrance of God's word give?
"The entrance of Thy word giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." Ps. 119:130.

16. Who does Christ say will be blessed through the prophecies of the book of Revelation?
"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein." Rev. 1:3.

NOTE.-We are in the last days, in the generation that is to hear the final warning message contained in this book. See Rev. 14:6-10; 18:1-5. Those who accept this message are described as keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. See Rev. 12:17; 14:12; 22:14; and readings in chapters 56 thru 58. Now especially these chapters should be studied.

Page 550

17. May those who have once been led of God, be rejected by Him on account of unbelief?
"I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once
knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not." Jude 5.

18. Upon what condition only may we be made partakers of Christ?
"For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end." Heb. 3:14. See Matt. 10:22; 24:12,13; Heb. 10:35-39.

WALK in the light! so shalt thou know
That fellowship of love
His Spirit only can bestow
Who reigns in light above.

Walk in the light! and thou shalt own
Thy darkness passed away;
Because that light on thee hath shone
In which is perfect day.

Walk in the light! and e'en the tomb
No fearful shade shall wear;
Glory shall chase away its gloom,
For Christ hath conquered there.

Walk in the light! and thine shall be
A path, though thorny, bright;
For God, by grace, shall dwell in thee,
And God Himself is light.
BERNARD BARTON.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Moody, Weighed and Wanting pp 11,15,16

Making Disciples: The Focus of Mission
Read Matthew 28:16–20. What elements of discipleship can you iden-
tify in this passage?
_
________________________________________________________
_
________________________________________________________
Matthew 28:16–20 declares the biblical mandate, commonly iden-
tified as the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18–20), in which Jesus
instructs His followers to move outward and make disciples, teaching
them in faith, and initiating them into fellowship (see also Mark 16:15,
16; Luke 24:44–49; John 20:21–23; Acts 1:8).

The basic components of Matthew 28:16–20 can be seen in four
simple aspects: (1) Jesus commands His disciples to go to Galilee to
be with Him (Matt. 28:16, 17); (2) Jesus comes to them, declaring
His authority and sovereignty (Matt. 28:18); (3) Jesus then commis-
sions His disciples to a specific task—namely, make disciples—(Matt.
28:19, 20); and finally, (4) Jesus promises to be with His disciples until
the end (Matt. 28:20).

Disciple-making is the primary focus of the Great Commission, and the
main task of mission. Literally, in the original Greek language, the begin-
ning of Matthew 28:19 says, “Having gone, therefore, make disciples [. . .]”
The “therefore” gives to the commission its foundation on what has just
been presented (Matt. 28:18): Jesus’ power, authority, and sovereignty—all
these coming from the victory attained in His resurrection.

It is important to highlight that the only action verb with imperative
force in the Great Commission is “make disciples.” Teaching everyone,
baptizing them, and sharing Jesus’ teachings to the whole world are the
characteristics of the discipleship process. Here Jesus is clearly direct-
ing His disciples toward one purpose: making disciples. This is indeed
one of the greatest mission passages in all of Scripture. It ends with
Jesus’ promise of continuous presence with His followers.

Obviously, the Great Commission was intended to be for more than
just the first disciples gathered in that particular circumstance. They
could not go to “all nations” by themselves in order to fulfill the new
given mission of making disciples. Therefore, the commission is univer-
sal in its scope: every true follower of Jesus Christ should be engaged
in disciple-making. Furthermore, the message to be conveyed—the
eternal gospel of Jesus Christ—is intended for the whole world, with
no geographical, social, or ethnic limitations.

The mission is to “make disciples.” How is this mandate of the
Master affecting how you live and minister to others? What can
you do to be more involved in what you have been called to do?

Good Morning. Today is the third workday of the week.

our country is overrun by jesuits, muslims, all undercover...read Rev 13......

Revelation 13:1-18 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,
having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth
as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed:
and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast

: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given
unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God,
to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given
unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds,
and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names

are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If any man have an ear,
let him hear. 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword.
Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. 11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had
two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,
and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do
in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast,
which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image
of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,

to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell,
save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man;
and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

"Have you not any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?"
"Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the Seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority" Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed. p. 174

The Eternal Gospel: The Message of Mission

Read Revelation 14:6, 7. What aspects of God’s mission can you iden-
tify in the “eternal gospel” (NRSV) presented by the first angel of
the three angels’ messages?
_
________________________________________________________
_
________________________________________________________
This is the only place in Scripture in which the words “eternal” and
“gospel” are connected. The gospel is the good news of grace offered to
all through Jesus Christ. He came into our world to show us “grace and
truth” (John 1:14).

He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sub-
stitutionary sacrifice to bear the penalty of our sins (Isa. 53:4, 5; 1 Pet.
3:18). He rose to life, returned to heaven, was exalted by the Father,
and today intercedes for us in the heavenly sanctuary (Rev. 1:18, Acts
2:33, Heb. 7:25). He will soon fulfill His greatest promise—to return
in majesty and glory and, ultimately, after the millennium to establish
God’s kingdom on earth (John 14:1–4, Acts 1:11, Rev. 21:1–4). These
are all essential realities of the eternal gospel.

Nevertheless, the fact that this message is eternal is remarkable.
There is only one gospel that can save us. It will remain the same until
the mission of God is fully accomplished. There will never be another
gospel. Deceitful teachings and doctrines come and go (Eph. 4:14), but
the message of salvation, the eternal gospel, is unchanging, and those
who believe and live it in obedience will be rewarded (see Deut. 5:33,
Rom. 2:6).

The same commission given to the first disciples also is given to us
today. We must continue the task of making disciples for Christ every-
where. But what kind of disciples? Good, honest, fully devoted, loving
people? These traits are essential, but they are not enough. We must
make disciples focused on all biblical elements of discipleship (Luke
9:23; John 13:34, 35; 2 Cor. 5:17) with an ultimate purpose: being
prepared and preparing others for the second coming of the Master,
Jesus Christ.

“The proclamation of the judgment [Rev. 14:6, 7] is an announce-
ment of Christ’s second coming as at hand. And this proclamation is
called the everlasting gospel. Thus the preaching of Christ’s second
coming, the announcement of its nearness, is shown to be an essential
part of the gospel message.”—Ellen G. White, Christ’s Object Lessons,
pp. 227, 228.

How is the concept of judgment linked to the “everlasting gospel”
in the first angel’s message? Why must the gospel be central to
the idea of judgment?

Good morning....Today is the fourth workday of the week.....mittwoch.
Section 15

Admonitions and Warnings

Chapter 174.

Danger in Rejecting Light

1. HOW does God regard sins of ignorance?
"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent." Acts 17:30.

2. To whom is sin imputed?
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good. and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:17.

3. In what words did Christ teach the same truth?
"Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth." "If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak [margin, excuse] for their sin." John 9:41; 15:22. See John 3:19.

4. In view of this, what instruction does He give?
"Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you. . . . While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light." John 12:35,36.

5. Who courts the light?
"Every one that doeth evil hateth the light. . . . But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." John 3:20,21.

God’s People: The Channels of Mission
Throughout history, God has always had those who faithfully repre-
sented His character and, in obedience, followed His purposes. God’s
people are those who have been called and who have accepted His
invitation to be partakers of His grace. All of them have been—and
continue to be—God’s instruments for the fulfillment of His mission.

Read Genesis 12:1–3 and Deuteronomy 7:6, 11, 12. What was God’s
original purpose for His people in the Old Testament?
_
________________________________________________________
_
________________________________________________________
God’s covenant with Abraham and his descendants had a specific
purpose. They were called, created, and commissioned to be agents
of God’s mission—channels of blessings to the nations (compare with
Deut. 28:10, Isa. 49:6). However, they were chosen within a covenant
relationship with God, based on an implied conditionality of faith and
obedience (Gen. 22:16–18; Exod. 19:5, 6; Deut. 28:1, 2; 2 Chron.

7:14). This process, that of attracting the surrounding nations to Israel,
was God’s “mission strategy” in the Old Testament.

In the New Testament, God’s mission continues. The risen Lord and
Savior now launches a renewed “mission strategy” (see Matt. 28:18–20,
Acts 1:8) in which Christ’s disciples—who comprise the church—go
out in mission to the whole world instead of, as with ancient Israel,
the world coming to it. Mission did not originate with the church. On
the contrary, the church exists because God still has a mission to be
fulfilled and is using His church to fulfill it.

Yet, a question remains: What is the church’s mission? It is the same
as that of the One who called the church into existence: “ ‘For the Son
of Man came to seek and to save the lost’ ” (Luke 19:10, NIV). Though
none of us in the church can save anyone, we can and must point others
to the only One who can save, Jesus Christ.

“The mission of the church of Christ is to save perishing sinners.

It is to make known the love of God to men and to win them to
Christ by the efficacy of that love.”—Ellen G. White, Testimonies
for the Church, vol. 3, p. 381. What a privilege and tremendous
responsibility!

Mission is to the church what air is to our lives. Without air, we
die. Without mission, the church dies. What can you do, personally,
to sustain the life of your church?
