I think Kris Kristofferson said it best.

Mister Marvin Middle Class is really in a stew

Wond’rin’ what the younger generation’s coming to

And the taste of his martini doesn’t please his bitter tongue

Blame it on the Rolling Stones.

Blame it on the Stones; blame it on the Stones

You’ll feel so much better, knowing you don’t stand alone

Join the accusation; save the bleeding nation

Get it off your shoulders; blame it on the Stones

Mother tells the ladies at the bridge club every day

Of the rising price of tranquilizers she must pay

And she wonders why the children never seem to stay at home

Blame it on the Rolling Stones.

Blame it on the Stones; Blame it on the Stones

You’ll feel so much better, knowing you don’t stand alone

Join the accusation; save the bleeding nation

Get it off your shoulders; blame it on the Stones

Father’s at the office, nightly working all the time

Trying to make the secretary change her little mind

And it bothers him to read about so many broken homes

Blame it on those Rolling Stones.

Blame it on the Stones; Blame it on the Stones

You’ll feel so much better knowing you don’t stand alone

Join the accusation; same the bleeding nation

Get it off your shoulders; blame it on the Stones

Blame it on the stones, blame it on the stones.

Jesus Was A Capricornby Kris Kristofferson

(Owed to John Prine)

Jesus was a Capricorn, he ate organic foods.

He believed in love and peace and never wore no shoes.

Long hair, beard and sandals and a funky bunch of friends.

Reckon they’d just nail him up if He come down again.

’Cos everybody’s got to have somebody to look down on.

Who they can feel better than at anytime they please.

Someone doin’ somethin’ dirty, decent folks can frown on.

If you can’t find nobody else, then help yourself to me.

Get back, John!

Egg Head’s cousin Red Neck’s cussin’ hippies for their hair.

Others laugh at straights who laugh at freaks who laugh at squares.

Some folks hate the whites who hate the blacks who hate the clan.

Most of us hate anything that we don’t understand.

’Cos everybody’s got to have somebody to look down on.

Who they can feel better than at anytime they please.

Someone doin’ somethin’ dirty, decent folks can frown on.

If you can’t find nobody else, then help yourself to me.

Help yourself, brother.

Help yourself, Gentlemen.

Help yourself Reverend.

Peace, Beads and Amen Brothers and Sisters,

Prairie Doc

Country DJ’s all think I’m an outlaw.

They’d never come to see me in this dive.

Where Bankers stare at Cowboys

Who are laughing at the Hippies

Who are praying they get out of here alive.

  Melissa

Crossroads, seem to come and go, yeah.

The gypsy flies from coast to coast

Knowing many, loving none,

Bearing sorrow havin fun,

But back home hell always run

To sweet melissa... mmm...

Freight train, each car looks the same, all the same.

And no one knows the gypsys name

No one hears his lonely sigh,

There are no blankets where he lies.

In all his deepest dreams the gypsy flies

With sweet melissa... mmm...

Again the mornings come,

Again hes on the run,

Sunbeams shining through his hair,

Appearing not to have a care.

Well, pick up your gear and gypsy roll on, roll on.

Crossroads, will you ever let him go? (lord, lord)

Will you hide the dead mans ghost,

Or will he lie, beneath the clay,

Or will his spirit roll away?

But I know that he wont stay without melissa.

Yes I know that he wont stay without melissa.

"I’m A Man Of Constant Sorrow"

In constant sorrow all through his days!

I am a man of constant sorrow,

I’ve seen trouble all my days.

I bid farewell to old Kentucky,

The place where I was born and raised.

The place where he was born and raised!

For six long years,

I’ve been in trouble.

no pleasure here,

on earth I’ve found.

For in this world,

I’m bound to ramble,

I have no friends to help me now.

He has no friends to help him now!

It’s fare thee well,

my old true lover,

I ne’er expect to see you again.

For I’m bound to ride,

that Northern Railroad,

Perhaps I’ll die upon this train.

Perhaps he’ll die upon this train!

You can bury me in some deep Valley,

For many years, there I may lay.

Then you may learn to love another

while I am sleeping in my grave

While he is sleeping in his grave!

Maybe your friends think I’m just a stranger,

My face you’ll never see no more.

But, there is one promise that is given,

I’ll meet you on God’s golden shore.

He’ll meet you on God’s golden shore!

By; Soggy Bottom Boys

I Like This One Too!

I used to rewatch the movie, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, just to hear that song.

I LOVE that song! Google "I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow" for the lyrics. Peter Paul and Mary sing it, too.

SANTO MIGUEL! Tonight, I taught an elderly Hispanic woman how to read and write the English alphabet! The look in her eyes, o the LOOK in her eyes; Jesus shone through in all His Glory! O My God! My GRACIOUS GOD thank YOU for using me as Your vessel to teach Carmen English!

I LOVE YOU, LORD!
